Get an optic mount that mates to the left reciever mounting point and you'll be golden. I don't have a best AK manual/take-down guide ~ after you get the machine cover off, the whole task of stripping is super easy and intuitive.

I used to be VERY anti commie bloc hardware but they win you over very quickly. Well done!

Breakdown and cleaning is pretty straight forward. Wipe down and lube and make sure you do a good job if you are using corrosive ammo.

You did quite well for $650 including 600rds.

For comparison, I just bought 1000rds of WPA ammo for $350 a few weeks ago, so thats $175 for 500rds (say ~$200 for 600rds).
So you got the rifle and mags for $450, that is a good deal IMO! Mags are around $20 a piece depending what and where you buy.

WASR 10's are decent rifles in my experience. I have a 10/63 with the folding stock also, very accurate even with just iron sights when properly sighted in. Congrats and happy shooting!


On a side note, we will never see true pre-panic prices; those days are gone so get used to it. The combination of Inflation, bad economy, and the fragile state of the gun culture is to blame.

whenever someone tries selling me an AK, and i hear or see "wasr" i just move along.. i had one once and i dont like them at all, ill stick with bulgarian and polish AKs

It's not a terrible deal if he really wants an AK just to have an AK.
But I agree. If somebody tried asking $900 for a WASR, I'd just have to laugh in their face. For just a little more, you could get a nice Arsenal or Krebs just like you say and be waaaaaaaay happier with it.

It's happening here, as we type. I find it sad. They're good weapons for battle, cheap to feed, and easy to train the loved ones to use if you need to arm them for any reason.

Hard to do that anymore. Appalling.
