I'm looking for a good scope for my Anschutz 164 Sporter .22lr.

I have my Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 on it currently but that scope is now going to the Tikka T3 that I just picked up. So I need to buy a new scope that will go on the Anschutz.

I don't want to spend a lot of money, if I could find a decent scope for under $300 I'd be thrilled. The max range I shoot out to with this rifle is 100 yards and generally no less than 50. The rifle is just used for target shooting.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Like I said my budget right now is $300 or less, preferably in the $200-$250 range.

i put a older 3/4 inch tube 4x redfield on my rem 581 L.H. .22 and it shoots 3/8 to 1/2 inch groups at 50 yds and looks like it belongs on the rifle, not to big. i know the rem is not a anschutz but it shoots. eastbank.

many scopes are good in that price range; nikon , is proly the best, however I would also look at the bushnell 3200 and 4200 series, and the new 6500 series. burris, Weaver, and supersniper is very good. I love the Weaver fixed 36T scope. But the nikon will have a leupold style warranty, and the glass is Japanese made, and is really tops for the money.

Wal Mart sells a Center Point 4 x 16 40mm for $70 I have one on my Savage 93R17 and for the money its great, The rings that come with it so so.

Took the words out of my mouth. It has dual color, illuminated mil-dot recticles.

I like the Weaver rimfires but, what ever you deside on make sure it is designed as a short range rimfire scope or has an adjustable objective.
The scopes designed for centerfires are set to be parellex free at 100-150 yds. You will see a lot of target movment at 50-75 yds useing one of these. 25 yd shooting really gets to be a bear if you don`t have your cheekweld locked in.

Many guys on rimfirecentral.com run the Mueller APV 4.5-14x40 AO and like it alot. Plus its only like 120 bucks on swfa.com.
+1. I have one on a CZ 452, and it works great.

I decided to stop by Wally World and pick up the 4x16x40 CenterPoint. With tax it came out to about $75.

I have to say I'm very impressed just looking at it. Seems very well built and the glass is clear. My research indicates that it's basically a Leapers scope so it will be interesting to see how it holds up over time.

I'll probably use it on my Tikka T3 as temporary solution and save up for a more expensive scope down the line.

Not familiar with CenterPoint. Does it have an adjustable objective, which I consider a "must have" on a rimfire rifle?

Take this with a grain of salt because I don't own one, but will likely be buying one pretty soon, the scope has garnered great reviews and has pretty good features for a rimfire scope...including relatively high magnification and an adjustable objective. If you're interested WW is the place to find one. :)

Just picked up said Center Point about an hour ago. For the money, it seems like you get quite a lot - red/green adjustable power recticle, 4-16x magnification, and a set of lens covers. I wasn't looking to spend the same price of the rifle on a scope, so for a 10/22, this seems like a good purchase.

Sadly, it doesn't have quadruple titanium-nitroformaldehyde teflonaluminum-carbon coating like the Counter Sniper brand scopes do :D

I didn't even realize the CenterPoint was illuminated (not that it is a big deal), thanks for the pics Chris. :)

i had to take back the first one. but wall mart gave me a new one & its been fine for over a year now. i think the first one was just damaged in shipping.

Well I tried mounting the CenterPoint on my Tikka but unfortunately the rings aren't tall enough. The rings that I have for my Anschutz aren't tall enough either and the rings that came with the CenterPoint won't fit either rifle.

I'm thinking I'll probably use the Zeiss on the Tikka for now and get some taller rings for my Anschutz so I can mount the CenterPoint on that eventually.
