Hmmmmmmmmm. I take it you don't live in Maryland?
I lived there for many years but don't anymore.

ForeverArmed,

I agree with you in principle. In practice, however, the state of Maryland will lock you up with unsavory types who might expand your range of experiences.
I would not ever allow myself to be taken to a state "rape room" alive. My life may be long or it may be short, but it will be free in any case. I would rather die than go to prison, and I would make every attempt to take at least one of my freedom-robbing assailants with me if it came to that.

Of course, that is not something I'd ever want to have happen. So, although I will live free, I try to do so in a way that minimizes the likelihood of conflict with the enemies of freedom. That's one of the reasons why I no longer live in MD. ;) But when I did live there, I was rather "selective" about following the gun laws. What other people do is up to them; I'm just offering my perspective.

I choose not to give Maryland the opportunity to visit such outrages upon my person. Therefore, I choose to forgo the pleasures of Maryland and keep my butt out of their jurisdiction.
There's certainly nothing wrong with that, and I left MD partly for that same reason.

OTOH, what happens when guns are outlawed everywhere, and there's nowhere free left to retreat to? At what point do we stop fearing prison and even death and being using the Second Amendment for its intended purpose? This is definitely not something I wishfully fantasize about, but we canNOT allow ourselves to be enslaved. Unfortunately, we're well on the way there.

Are air soft guns legal to conceal there? Maybe just the sight of pulling one out will give the BG a second thought of doing harm, granted the orange tip is removed.

Using a toy as a magic talisman is worse than using a firearm as one. Maryland is a horrid place in terms of personal liberty and the ability to have an effective means of personal protection on ourselves as we go through our daily activities. I left MD for some of those very reasons.

I feel bad for your situation. The law permits you to carry a knife. I'd at least do that.

There is just something so wrong with being in a place so bad I feel the need to wear kelvar, and not being able to carry a gun... Not to mention how plain wrong it would feel to actually wear my vest without being armed, but the company I work for part time said that they would have no problem with letting me borrow it for the week (of course if something happened to it, Im sure they would take it out of my pay check  )

I wouldn't bother wearing the vest... It's bad, but not that bad. Better to blend in and be the grey man.

I think it was rapper 50 cent who said this "you wear a vest without a gat, you's a target jack"
