i need help

ok i just cant decide on a pistol

ive been looking at several including:
glocks
sig trade ins
taurus
ruger
stoeger
eaa
ria 1911
sigma


maybe you guys can help me find what im looking for. i like all these guns but cant find that one guns that says "im right here get me"

what i want is something with a good mag capacity, exposed hammer, good looks, must be reliable with regular cleaning, id really like a polymer frame but not a must

i like the eaa ez40, and i really like a taurus 840 but id like to see if there are more options out there im looking to spend 450 max

Glocks are ugly, but I would buy a glock before most of the other guns unless you can find a sig for that price.

hmmmmmmmm.... to fit your criteria, minus the external hammer I would look at the taurus 24/7 OSS.. it has a great variety of features and is available in all calibers up to 45 with 12 round mag capacity...


then again.. the 92's have somewhat high capacity and the exposed hammer just not polymer...

sig prices are pretty crazy though something like the 220 fits your criteria pretty well... 1911's dont really have the capacity or the polymer in your price range...

EAA has some sig clones you may be intersted in checking out...

i like the eaa ez-40 but i cant find one around here and with 50 bucks bein the cheapest transfer not really worth it

i like the 24/7 but i like the exposed hammer of the 800 series the oss looks wierd to me with the longer barrel

I thought the same thing til I handled one.. the extra inch or so really makes no difference in carrying capability but it balances the gun well and adds to its accuracy also.. add to that the improved trigger, ambi safety,decock DA/SA, and cocked indicator.. I think it is an impressive gun.. that said, i understand the preference for the exposed hammer but that along with your other stipulations seems to be pretty well sewn up by the sigs and their clones.

In your price range, look at the Ruger KP96PR15 or P95PR15. Can't get more rugged or reliable than Ruger. MSRP for stainless is $429.00 but you can get it for $330 NIB.

I normally recommend some kind of mid-range 1911, but since you are considering an EAA I will say the best OOB guns I've bought in the past decade have been EAAs. After 12 years of using the same Kimber as my competition/carry gun I retired it from competition for a $300 EAA.

I upgraded the EAA, spent another $400 customizing the new one and that is now my competition gun. I still carry a 1911 as my SD gun.

It depends on what you want to do...
