Ok, i'm starting to develope that fever again and plan on purchasing a new toy very soon. I've been set on getting a decent, accurate 9mm for range use so everytime i wanna go i don't spend an arm and a leg on ammo(CZ 75, or EAA Withness Match). BUT, i do not have a 1911 .45 ACP, and really really want one. I'm not buying both, so somebody talk me into one or the other!......Actually, try and talk me out of getting a 1911.:)

Well you could always get John Moses Browning's 9mm - The Hi-Power. Of course my Hi-Power purchase lead to a 1911 purchase a few months later. I've also read so much good on CZs, and they're priced so good, I may have to get a CZ-75 too. So, no, I can't talk you out of a 1911. You really NEED both a 1911 and a nice 9mm like a Hi-Power or CZ...or all three. I know it's not helpful, but reality is harsh sometimes :D

I know what you mean Joe, I want a 1911 very badly but, I also want a woods gun for hunting. So recently I have contemplating very seriously about a Kimber Stainless target in 10mm....but the only one I have seen locally is 1000.00. I might have to settle for a Glock 20 and be content.

If you truly want to go with a 9mm, DO NOT shoot a 1911, seriously they are addicting. Of course you could always get a 1911 and a .22LR conversion kit since you wanted to cut down on the cost of ammo :)

Daughter just purchased a CZ85B for 440 clams. :) She"s happy with it and new to shooting.Wouldn't get the Ruger 9mm.What's a dad to do? Got to try it out what else? It fits her and that"s good enough.Other shooters in this part of the state{quite a few have CZ 75s and brag them up, rightfully so.Just my 2 pesos of opinion.:D

Neither you nor anyone else is going to talk you out of the fact that you want both. You have always wanted that 1911 and no one is going to change that. So, go out and get the 9mm and tell yourself that you are saving money on ammo and with that money you save, put it in a jar or piggy bank or a sock and when it there gets to be enough buy the 1911. I think you and I are just alike and probably about like all the other gun nuts at this site. I wanted to buy a 9mm and ended up buying a Beretta, on layaway, I talked myself out of that nice glossy blued, walnut grips BHP for $229 more but I know deep in my heart that BHP or its twin will be mine someday also.

Wow, thanks guys...I'm in a bigger predicament now than i was in the first place.:) I guess the simple solution would be to buy the CZ, BHP, AND the 1911 all at once!:banghead:

D$#*&@! Now I'm leaning toward the 1911....Decisions decisions.

Thanks guys, for at least attempting to help. If anyone else feels like they can help talk me out of the 1911, feel free to give it a try.

Why not get the best of both worlds. You wont a 9mm and a 1911 so why not get a 1911 chambered for the 9mm such as Para Ordnances PXT HI-CAP.You can get one for around $750-950 depending on were you look. There nice guns the 9mm holds 18 rounds and will shoot 1 1/2in groups at 50 yards.

Or you could just buy the CZ 97 and have both a CZ and a 45:banghead:

I absolutely love my CZ 75 9mm. It is very accurate, feels great in my hands, looks awesome, carries well and is just a hoot to shoot - plus the ammo is cheap:D

But I do like a nice 1911 too.:p

Well, see i looked into getting a 1911 chambered in 9mm, but everyone told me that its a waste of a 1911. So Ill probably end up getting a 1911 .45acp, and then get a good, accurate range gun next:banghead:

Though it probably should be the other way around.
