I Need Your Appraisals On Custom Rifle

Hi everybody. What we have here is a custom Winchester M70 XTR Featherwieght in .270. On it rides a Zeiss Diavari C 3-9x36 scope. Stock is exhibiton grade maple. Scope rings, safety lever, mag latch and trigger are gold plated. So, whats it worth? I have no idea and as there are no appraisers in my area, I figure that THR members are the next best thing.( Or even better).

I'd advise you to go up on ww.gunbroker.com and search on "Model 70 Winchester." See if there are guns like yours for sale, and check what the asking price is.

The bad news that a customized rife is almost never worth what it would bring if it had been left in original condition. The exceptions are those worked over by the legendary greats -- like Al Biesen.

The good news is that you may find someone who always wanted a rifle like that and is willing to pay a premium price.
