bowling for columbine, it makes me sick i could hardly stand it
i mean seriously the guy in the documentary is the sickest anti ever but all gun owners should watch to see the mentality we are up against.

so i give you this mission my good friends watch the movie.

you must know the enemy we are all up against and the arguments used.

with this we can turn the enemy's own documents against them.

God speed and good luck.

I refuse to buy it, or rent it, or borrow it, or watch it on cable. Why give it ratings so those who run cable think more want to watch stuff like that.

Sorry but I do not need to watch a POS Michael Moore movie to know what we are up against.

The last thing I will ever do is give that guy any of my money.

Good Luck though!

i just wish somebody would tell those poor boys that got shot that it was the columbine shooters that did that not the guns they used

The South Park guys were appalled by his use of their characters though. I had to give them a bit of credit there.

Guys, would you walk into a thicket on a hunt, after your guide only told you "Hey, Bubba! There's a critter in there!"

You have to know what you are targeting. Because you're going to have a different attitude about that thicket if there's a mountain lion in it, instead of Bambi...

I had to watch that movie to use as a source for a gun rights argument essay I wrote in college. I bought it for 3 dollars from a secondhand movie store, watched it, used it for my paper, then blew the hell out of it at the next range trip. :)

I've never seen any of Moore's stuff. He's knid of a fearmonger/muckraker sort. I think most folks know what they are up against without contributing money to a movie, movie house, video store, etc. If no one rents or sees it, it will be pulled due to lack of profitability. :)

I do wish that bank still had the Weatherby deal though, I've actually got money I could deposit, and those sure are some nice guns. :D

He got the best documentary Oscar about 6 years ago for that propaganda film despite the fact that it violated the rules of the Academy by having been heavily edited. Moore spliced words from different Heston speeches together to create sentences that he never actually said. They should have recalled the award but you know that the Oscars is now about 95% Liberal politics. Robin Williams and Julia Roberts got their Oscars solely for their Liberal political activism. Neither deserved it for their performances.

Good info

I don't see that movie as all bad. What it really shows is Media sensationalizing events that wouldn't have made it past local news a few decades ago ( much like some posts here that put up every ND, AD and shooting to make a "big deal" of). Taken with a critical eye towards events and their possible causes, the movie isn't that bad.
Especially interesting to my family is the position stated by musician Marilyn Manson.

The truth is the same now as it ever was; raise your children well and you will have well raised children.

Ditto...

Really? Most of my professors wanted primary sources. Heck, I teach high school and I wouldn't let my students use a piece of political propaganda (even one I agreed with) as a source, unless the topic was political propaganda. What class was this for? If it is some kind of media or communications class I can maybe see it, but then why would the topic be gun rights.

Guys, would you walk into a thicket on a hunt, after your guide only told you "Hey, Bubba! There's a critter in there!"

Being from New Jersey, I'd probably tell the guide to go perform some sexual act upon himself as soon as he called me bubba.

I've made a point to miss all of Micheal Moore's movies. The guy claims to be a "working class" guy and lives the life of Riley
in a ritzy part of NYC and IIRC in a pent house no less.

I like Larry the Cable Guy's take on Michael Moore: "I was in the Walmart the other day, looking around from some Michael Moore DVDs to level up my couch with,......."

That's my thoughts him two. I don't understand people who use a tragic event (such as Columbine) to further their paycheck or a personal agenda.

I had to watch that in a government class a few years back, we also watched the American President and an Inconvenient Truth before that. By the time the teacher announced Bowling for Columbine I almost lost it, I got into a heated shouting match with the guy and called him out on being a horribly biased teacher. I calmed down after a few minutes, watched the film, and throughout just made little quips to the class on how Michael Moore was wrong on certain and just stated some statistics, which of course made him mad. That teacher and I never really got along, I've alway wondered why...

This is interesting. I watched that movie before I was a gun owner and before I was strongly pro-rights (pro-gun). I didn't have a problem with that documentary back then. I probably will now. I'll have to watch it again.

"This started out as a documentary on gun violence in America, but the largest mass murder in our history was just committed -- without the use of a single gun! Not a single bullet fired! No bomb was set off, no missile was fired, no weapon (i.e., a device that was solely and specifically manufactured to kill humans) was used. A boxcutter! -- I can't stop thinking about this. A thousand gun control laws would not have prevented this massacre. What am I doing?"--Michael Moore

He also violated the rules of "documentary" by staging things that never happened. But he's a lefty so the academy didn't care.
I wouldn't give him a penny.

I won't even watch the commercials for this guys propaganda movies. Hopefully enough people do the same and I think it would be hilarious if the stations started noticing the number of viewers instantly drop for a minute or two only when even his commercials came on.
