My dealer friend that does transfers for me has a HK G36 E2. I was there picking up my a new rifle when he offered to let me shoot a couple of his supressed pistols trying to entice me into buying one. He has been trying to talk me into spending the cash and doing all the paperwork for a supressor for a while now. He said as long as I was trying some of the suppressed pistols he has I should try his HK. I have always had a soft spot for HKs so I quickly agreed. I only had a 30 round mag in the gun but it was one of the coolest things I have ever held in my hands. I mostly shot short 3 rounds bursts at 40 yards, but as the mag started to get low I started firing longer bursts. I know everyone says that they are just as deadly as a semi auto, but it was amazing how fast you could get a lot of bullets on target.

It is too bad that me as a mere regular citizen will never own a weapon like that! Next time I am going to the range he said to give him a call and he will bring the full auto ARs with one of his Beta mags. If that ever happens I will be sure to take a video and some pics.

Everyone always has a big sh*t-eating grin on their faces after they pop their full-auto cherry.

After you shoot your first personally owned full-auto you have that look on your face for a week.

It sounds like I should be able to get aproved to own a full auto gun. The hard part is going to be freeing up several thousand dollars to purchase one. Someday I will do it, it is just going to be a few years.

MikeIsaj It might have been a 4 round bursts, it was kind of hard to tell. :D My friend did tell me to pull the trigger quickly and then release it so as to not go threw the whole mag in 3 seconds. I don't think it would be all that hard to keep it to three rounds at a time. It all comes down to how long it takes you to release the trigger.

I've gotten to shoot a few full auto guns over the years, I'm with you, they are fun!

Several years ago, my little brother got to play with the G36 when he was over visiting Germany with the Airforce. He reported it was very easy to control and get hits with.

Congrats

Sturmruger,

I'm re-reading old posts and have come to the conclusion that I was a butt head on March 31st.

Don't get me wrong, full auto is a hoot! I was glad to have the experience with a variety of otherwise unavailable weapons for free.

My comment about three round bursts wasn't meant to ridicule anyone, it was just a fact that I should have explained further. You are correct that a little practice is all you need to develope a feel for the weapon. For the record I don't thing I ever developed a quick enough finger to consistantly fire three round bursts with the M-16. Most don't, that's why the A2 version has the three round burst selector in place of full auto.
