About 5-6 mos. ago I purchased a Ruger P95. It was a great shooting reliable pistol. My only concern was the bulk of the P95 and CCing it. I paid $299.99 for it and just sold it for $300.00 so all I lost was the $19.50 tax.

I didn't have a problem with printing but my left arm would constantly rub against it when I wore my NRA belly band holster. It was more annoying than anything.

I still have a Bersa .380 and a XD .40 that I carry but I want another 9mm (ammo is less expensive and I have 700 rounds saved up). for general use (plinking and CCing on occasion).

I have found the Ruger SR9 in stock and I really like the added safety, the thin frame for CCing and the feel of the gun in my hand plus I have owned a number of Rugers over the years. They all have shot well and ate anything I fed them.

I love my XD and I am also considering another in 9mm (or an XDM). Do you have any others that you feel I should look at? I want to keep my cost $600.00 or less.

Ideas? Please respond quickly because I'm going to the store tonight! :D

try picking up a Taurus 24/7 compact or a PT111 to look at. Even a full size 24/7 may fit the bill!! My GF just bought a 24/7 Pro after handling S&W M&P's, Glocks, Keltecs, Rugers ( SR9). The 24/7 felt best to her...

Go to a range that rents guns and take your time sorting through the ones that strike your eye; then fire some rounds through them -- then fire some more rounds through them. Next, invite your buddies with various guns to bring them along and then sample their wares. Eventually you'll find a gun that fits both your hand and eye -- and that's the one to invest your time and attention to for a long-enough period to determine if you want to buy it. There's no need to rush into a gun purchase; take your time and test the waters.

Ruger SR9 is fine. Get a good holster this time.

Other ideas: Glock 19, 23, 38 in a MTAC holster.
Kimber TLE in a Miltsparks VMII or MTAC
Smithy M&P in a MTAC
One of Keltec's 9mm's in anything

I have both the P95 and SR9.

The SR9 is better for CC, i can relate to the "arm rubbing" on the P95, this is not a problem on the SR9. The SR9 is about 1/2in longer muzzle and grip, so although nice and thin, it may print more than a P95 due to the slightly longer grip.

Accuracy is better than the 95, shoots better than I do, on par with any other 9mm ive shot, you wont be dissapointed after shooting it.

I'd recommend that you check out the Smith M&P in 9mm. I really love the way it feels in my hand.

I attribute the ergonomics to how well I shoot it, even compared to much more expensive guns.

XD 9mm HC

Well, I liked my XD .40 so well I started looking at the XD 9mm HC (High Capacity).

They had one on sale for $20.00 more than the SR9 so it followed me home.

I'm also a fan of the SR9. Funny as the two 9mm's I'd look at if it was for me are the two you are looking at. The SR9 or the XDm would be the two ones I'd look at right now.

EDIT. See you got the XDm. I should have read through the whole thing. Let us know how you like it? I've never personally shot one where as I have with the SR9 but the reviews are great. It's one of the guns I'd strongly look at if I was in the market for a 9mm.
