I think I found my next .32 handgun- Zastava M70

I’m sorry I meant to say that Zastava has no plans to export the M70. Just that you can see what the new m70 looks like that is for sale to civilians in Serbia. I also wish they would export it in .380. Maybe on down the road.

Wikipedia is the only spot I've found mention of the .380 version so I'm skeptical about the accuracy of that info. If they're out there, those that have them are hanging on to them. But it doesn't keep me from looking now and then.

Zastava has been around a long time, it's very likely that they made a .380 at one point. One Zastava that I saw that really caught my attention during research was a .25 caliber that weighed 11oz and had an exposed hammer. Holds more rounds than the Colt or FN, and it's not a tip up barrel like the Beretta/Taurus, so durability has to be better.

Yes I have looked at that .25. I wish Zastava would export it at a decent price. Also just sitting here with not much to do, I found that .380 will fit the .32 mag just fine and if you lock the slide back and insert the mag the round lines up perfectly with the chamber. A slide and barrel would get you a M70 in .380. As to the new M70 what is up with that rear site?

Dunno WRT rear sight. Maybe the seller has a clue?

I know a bit about the rifles, not so much WRT the pistols.

Someone generously tipped me off there are .380 / 9mm Kurz Zastava M70 pistols being offered for sale on Gunbroker.com. I purchased one, the seller says there are two more available for purchase.

As to the rear sight, evidently some Zastava M70 .32 / 7.65mm Browning were manufactured with an adjustable rear sight. Gunbroker.com is currently awash in both fixed and adjustable rear sight models, and some nickel plated variants as well.

I’ll be an enabler! If you budget allows, buy one while this current influx of surplus guns is available. Once they dry up, the prices will start to rise (although prices are generally low now).

I picked up a CZ70 and a CZ50 last year when they were plentiful and low priced for range use and for my “collection”. Shooting .32acp in an all steel gun is just fun, although ammo isn’t cheap.

This thread rekindles my desire to get one of these, the 1914 Mauser, the 1907 Savage, etc. So many guns, so little room in the safe (and so little discretionary cash!).

Hmmm, sounds good. I have Mauser HsC made in the Mauser plant under French control just after wwII, great pistol. Would like to have some Czech pistols too since that is my heretage. Just got my first CZ, a CZ75B and it fits me perfectly!

I’m picking up a VZOR-70 at my FFL here in a couple hours. My first .32. Dunno why i bought it. It’ll be good for something, but I haven’t figured out what yet.

I find mine very nice for just casual shooting at cans and bottles. Also, small/handy enough to stick in a work box or glove box easily if that is legal in your area.

The keltec P32 may be "plasticky", but wow, what a great shooting pistol.
I've had the P3AT for several years, and just got a P32. Nicer pistol in every way.

yes, I think I may do something very much like that. If it’s nice for casual shooting i wonder if it might be decent for a lady shooter.

I would say very good for lady shooter. My wife balked at racking the slide, but - that really is just about technique and a little practice.

Colt 1903's are great guns, but they suffer from the poor sights like most guns of that time had.

True that the sights are minimal , however - the 1902 Hammerless is one of those Browning designs that drops into the hand so well , and points so naturally , that those minimal sights seem more than adequate.
Wonderful design , excellent shooter.

If only I could find a new barrel for my .380 Colt Hammerless that's less expensive than a human organ suitable for transplant!o_O
