I happened across a Beretta m9 for 360 like new! Of course i snatched it.

Its my first Beretta. Ive been reading around the forums about the m9 vs the 92fs and don't see much difference.

But is there any difference in price/desire among the gun community vs the two?

Did i do good? :D

Added pic but like i said cell phone pic so its real bad. Ill try and get a cam pic if i can come across a camera.

Not really.

Probably, but pics would help.

That said, Im a fan of Beretta 92/M9. One of my favorites. Im sure you will think so too after shooting. Enjoy. Any more questions dont hesitate to ask.

IIRC the roll marks are the only difference but I am far from a Beretta expert. They sell NIB for around $529 so at $360 you did great.

Enjoy and remember if you don't post pics it did not happen!!!!!!!!!!!

Ill try and get pics but all i can get is cell pics, dont think they will turn out well.

The thing really is like new. I cant find so much as a scratch on it other than on the bottom it looks like a mag bumped it trying to put it in. It just looks like a surface scratch. You can tell it was fired but very little. Its full blued.

M9 is not blued. Its a proprietary Beretta finish called Bruniton on the slide/barrel. The frame is made of aluminum alloy and as such its annodized. :)

Also look at the wear on the frame rails for a rough guesstimaite as to how much it was fired.

ETA: you should be able to check when it was made on Beretta's site from the serial no.

They are running 500 + tax around here. So I think you did pretty good.
Beware of some muzzle flip for a 9mm but also be prepared for a tac driver.
I used them for the army and I also own one. About the only pistol my rifle/shotgun butt is good with.
=)

I hope you wore a mask when you picked it up.
It is customary to wear a mask when 'stealing' something.
:)

Color me jealous. I carried an M9 in the AF and it's always on my to-get list. An M9 for $360 is a very nice deal. I see used ones in my are for no less than $450.

As far as I know the differences between the M9 & the 92 are the sights (dot over line on the M9, 3-dot for the 92), and the dust cover on the frame is a little different shape. Other than that I'm not sure.

You got a great deal. I recently picked up a 92FS used (looked like it had maybe one magazine ran through it) for $425. I think even that was an OK deal, since around here they're going new for $600.

Hope you enjoy!

I absolutely love mine. Even with the fat grip & my small hands, it still feels so good, and shoots so sweet. Love it!!!

The m9 also doesn't have a radiused backstrap like most 92fs do..which gives it a slightly different feeling when holding it..the radiused backstrap can sometimes be enough to allow smaller hands to get a proper/comfortable grip, but if it works for you, you got an outstanding deal on a fine piece of hardware..

That's a great price. About two years ago I looked up the value of them in a gun blue book. I think it was somewhere between $500 and $550 for one.

I got mine for just raising my right hand, and a signature on a contract... :) Nice price, good steal!

When I needed my M9 in Iraq it didn't let me down. I just wish the grips were a little thinner since I have small hands. Not the most comfortable pistol for me to shoot but it points extremely well for me after practice and drills over the years. I'd buy one for that price.

Not to hijack the thread, but Trausch Grips make a very thin grip for the Beretta. I kept a set on my issue pistol the entire time I was in Afghanistan.

Pretty sure the only difference between the two are the sites, and the magazine coating. I believe the newer M9's have rails too.

What he said. I don't want one badly enough to pay full retail, but if I saw a good one on the shelf for $360 I'd jump on it.

I'd say the OP got the better deal. ;)
