I think I passed an "interview".

That wasn't the point... a description which includes unnecessary ethnicity strikes discord among THR members and those who visit the website. I'd think the Mods here, above all, would understand that.

Frankly, if a mention of race is something that makes one uncomfortable, I'd say that there is something in them that is causing that. I don't want to be rude and just say "that's your problem" but it essentially comes down to that. The rest of us understand that a criminal event has a lot of factors. Area, time, mannerisms, dress and appearance, and even race can all come into play. Understanding that fact and calling it for what it is isn't racism, it's logic. To be more focused with the emotional impact a sentence on a forum might cause vs. giving an accurate description on the event is honestly irrational.

I mean this in a blunt way, but I assure you not in a rude way: your emotional reaction to the words of others is irrelevant. Some things matter. Like facts. Tactics. Events. Other things really don't. Emotional reactions to a story for whatever reason falls into the "doesn't matter" category.

How is YOUR comment not discordant? It spawned a series of responses including mine.

But that's the last I'll say on it. I know how these type of threads turn out.

I think the OP explained well enough why he mentioned the ethnicity of the two men, and we should satisfied with his response. I know I am.
