I think the ATF might have followed me from a show today...

It might have something to do with you having stopped to buy 4,000 Lbs. of sugar, and 5,000 gallons of bottled water, and 15 boxes yeast just before stopping at the gun show. And why did you say you needed 50 feet of high-quality copper tubing?!

I left the show and noticed a city patrol car following behind me. It was several car lengths behind, but kept pace. The driver was a cop... the passenger was wearing a dress shirt or maybe a suit.

So why would the ATF be riding shotgun with the local cops? What happened to all of their own cars? Why would you assume that just because the passenger wasn't in uniform that the passenger was some a federal agency? How did you arrive at ATF versus FBI versus Homeland security? Did you stop to think the passenger might very well have been a plain clothes officer or a detective?

I doubt it was the ATF but, is it far fetched to think the police follow people from a gun show to see if that are driving toward the state line?

I've seen them do this at fireworks stands, why would a gun show be different?

You don't happen to resemble Charlie Manson, do you? :D

"I got blisters on my fingers!"

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean that they are not out to get you.
Amen! You would be amazed at the info that Feds can pull up on you and your neighbors from your license plate.
One of the basic rules of following someone include when you've been made, an accomplice follows so the subject thinks the following car is no longer following.
I had losing police down to a fine science some time ago. I ticked off one of their stoolie-wannabe-cop-some-day because he had designs on my girlfriend. He tried to impress her by talking about undercover operations that would be going on during the week.
I told some of the targets that if they were into anything to lay off for 2 weeks.
He showed up at my door threatening me. Telling me how I would be charged with interfering with an investigation. I asked him how I should know about any investigation? He wasn't about to tell them he was flapping his gums, trying to impress a girl, so I showed him the sidewalk.
I was followed everywhere I went until I went to bootcamp, later that year. Every day I woke up and looked out of my window, there was a "plain vanilla" police car sitting across the street.
I got pulled over regulary to see if I had a drivers license, which involved a search of my car.
They followed me to work, and college, and searched me often.
I learned their patterns and used them to my advantage. They were thoroughly frustrated that they could not pin anything on me for the month or so before I left, but that was 1980.
When you went into the Evil Wal-Mart, they may have put a GPS transponder on your car. Check the hollows of your bumper.

DON'T DO IT! Those transponders are attached to two lbs of C4, set to go off automatically if you touch them!

Just in case

HTML:
some pds have trainees ride with their fto's (field tr. officer, who are wearing business casual to make it so the public will always approach the unifromed trainee first...)

Or it was a ride-along...

It's very likely they weren't following you, but I would break out the lead foil hat just in case.

OMG, this has been the funniest string I have seen in a while.:D

It isn't uncommon for cops to NCIC the tags on a car that they are behind, to check and see if the registered owner is wanted on a warrant. If he is, they will pull the car over, and if the fugitive is in the vehicle, they'll pick him up. They will often stay behind the vehicle at least until the NCIC info comes back.

you're lucky

you don't live in Houston; they're trying to get unmanned drones with high powered cameras there for "traffic enforcement"; those dudes could orbit over your house & count the fleas on your dog!
 I wouldn't worry.

Why would they tail you? They have your license plates. If you did something bad enough, you picture would be on the news.

Remember that lots of people read our forums. Try not to post junk like this that makes us look like a bunch of raving lunatics.

I bet a bunch of money that includes the ATF and NSA. Not that it matters anyway. This is The High Road, not the anti-government, liberty dollar, loony fringe, underground. Everyone knows they only communicate in Morse code over the secret squirrel radio frequency.:neener:

Why did you have to turn off the interstate. It makes it harder for us to follow you. ;)

This is why I always drive either like a really fast jerk, swerving and cutting people off, or really really slow. It's real easy to tell who is following you this way. Oh and seeing as how the ATF is probably reading this, F U ATF.

Alert! The latest research has shown that tinfoil actually attracts and amplifies alien and secret government mind control rays! It's like wearing an antenna!

Geez, that's why you have to line it with duct tape!

Cloverleaf freeway interchanges are great for confirming if you're being tailed.

I can't see the local LEOs escorting an ATF agent around.

Isn't that what happened in Virginia, when ATF and locals started questioning neighbors and family members of those buying firearms at a gun show?
