For a while I’ve been practicing 25 yard Bullseye style pistol shooting. I’m just getting to the point that I can keep all my shots in the black about 75% of the time, with certain loads and my guns. That’s definitely improvement over the beginning where I was doing good to keep 10 shots on the whole 12” square target sheet.

I noticed something more subtle that may or may not mean anything. I tried a couple loads in my 22, shooting 10-shot groups with each. These were shot off a rest. When I shot unsupported, the point of impact was basically the same. The group grew by about 3x but the center was the same. I’ve also noticed this with my sons Canik the last couple range trips. Before I would have to rezero for unsupported after testing ammo off a rest. Honestly does this even mean anything?

No, moving to to unsupported generally moved my groups up a little and a bit left but I shoot left handed. The groups get so much bigger it’s probably still happening but it’s hidden with all the scatter. I feel like 3x the rested size is a big jump but the guy next to me was dropping hot brass in my shirt with decent accuracy.

As you improve with precision shooting your groups will become more circular and then smaller. Basically, you become more adept at controlling your wobble. Kind of a combination of fitness, breathing, settling your thought process and becoming more and more comfortable with your individual pistols.
