Entry Level Target Gun in 45 ACP

Sig Sauer had a Target model some years back if you are open to a used gun. As well if you can depart from the 1911 with this type of extractor. I find the fitment good, finishing quite nice and trigger out of the box was 4.75#'s. Add the ambi safety.

I have traction tape on the front under the guard because these computer hands get chewed by the checkering.

These are some snaps of mine:

I found a Girsan 45 in my price range with a 6” barrel. Is there any advantage to such a long barrel in a 1911 in 45 ACP, particularly for target use?

Sight radius! Using iron sights at 50yds, the extra sight radius helps with sight alignment and the added weight reduces tremors, recoil, and with slightly higher velocity reduces wind drift, and flattens trajectory.

Mind you some of these benefits are small, but when matches are won by X-count, one X can be the difference between the winner’s circle and going home empty handed...
BTDT!
