I think we can all relax!

Yesterday I ordered an extra large case of 7.62x39 as extra 'insurance', added to the retirement heap.
At least imported ammo might not see extra high taxes/punitive tariffs for a good while.

Is it probable that AR rifles' and component prices could drop a bit more?

ROTC students in uniform near large campuses might need to be extra careful for a few days.

Absolutely. I will definitely be renewing my C&R next year. I expect lower prices now. And perhaps more choices again.

Howard J: I'm sure you realize that regular people were fed up with the govt.'s attempt to eventually control all health care, not even understanding the ACA which They then voted in. The clever elites should have anticipated that people of moderate income could see serious cost increases on their health insurance if things went wrong. And many politicians who passed the 'ACA' did not want to use it..........

And regular Citizens (not 'Subjects') were Really tired of having people with too many PhDs or political titles look down on them as ignorant "knuckle draggers".

Fantastic result, I never dared hope.

However, I expect no push whatever on GCA or NFA rules, subject doesn't interest him. He is not an ardent 2a guy but he has made commitments to us in order to get elected. If there is another flurry of massacres or other high profile gun crime, I believe Trump will support some additional restrictions as a show, e.g. mag. capacity limits or univ. background checks. I'd be surprised if he goes for anything worse.

The most important thing is that he follow through on his SC appointments. This could well re-set the nation for decades if not permanently.

btw, I'd also expect a real, immediate price drop on ARs, &etc.

I'd like to see the NFA registry re-opened.... it could be framed in the context of raising willing revenue for other programs/projects... :)

Somehow, I've still got this uneasy feeling...can't quite say why :uhoh:

If he follows through on his little gun committee/gun czar thing his son is pitching, maybe it'd be helpful. I'm more hopeful that his election & the retention of House & Senate will give the weaseley moderate Republicans & Democrats the cover to endorse then pass the Hearing Protection Act, and at long last after nearly a century, begin concrete steps toward rolling back the NFA. I really hope he doesn't revert to his old anti-gun ways the next time a guy with a beard shoots up a joint under the pretext of national security like he has the last few times. I really really hope he doesn't catch a bullet from a crazy & usher in a new dark age of gun control as was seen after Reagan & Kennedy (though this applied to Clinton just as much)

Just enjoy the moment and pop a champagne cork. 24 hours ago we thought for sure it would be HRC.

I'll relax after I see what he does. Right now I have to help Whoopi, Cher, Miley and the rest of them move...

We should be watching for the one thing he said he would do and that he can do without having to depend on the alleged Republican majority to develop a spine or at least a notochord... cancel all executive orders, quasi-official pronouncements, and bureaucratic regulations signed by B. Hussein.

I'm glad he won. It is time to change the direction that the current administration has taken us in so many ways. I'm just so relieved that HRC won't be making those Supreme Court appointments.

Skirting the line of politics here..., but, I am a little more than optimistic than some. I saw Trump appearing to be very open with his views, with total disregard for PC. If this holds true on what he has said about the Second Amendment, I am hopeful.

I see this as a sign that the majority of Americans are tired of attacks on the Second Amendment. There was a lot of controversy and issues in this election, but the biggest bumper sticker on the losing soapbox was gun control. Hopefully, as others have said, we remain vigilant, and that our "representatives" begin to realize what the American people want.

Right after the repeal of the "Affordable Care Act" AKA "Obamacare" we need to see the removal of SBRs, SBSs, and suppressors from the NFA.

That would be a good start.
I personally doubt that Obama Care will be repealed. It will be modified and changed. It will take years to do this, But I think we're stuck with a national insurance program. I would just prefer that it accomplished what it was designed for.

I am going to rest easy on Supreme Court nominations. This for me is the most satisfying part of the election results. These decisions impact things for 20 years. As I said before, I sincerely hope that Donald Trump has a really well qualified group of advisers when it comes to "running the country".

I'm just so happy today!
I bet gun prices go down tho. Only one thing to do about that. Guess I'll go shopping. :)

It'll still be dumb if we end up shooting ourselves, anyway. Hopefully we (us gunowners) can act as a safety or choose the chamber.

I am feeling good enough today to stop stockpiling ammo, at least for now. Maybe someday I will go back to having virtually nothing in my house but would buy what ammo I need for the range on the way there at a local box store or gun shop. It wasn't many years ago that having a box of 25 of self defence ammo, and a half a brick of 22LR for target shooting was all the ammo that I kept on hand and never thought twice about getting more when I needed it.

we might be able to relax but the insane hoarding of 22 rf will never end. it is funny when I hear guys say we must get kids into shooting. how will that happen with no 22 ammo or when it is found it is expensive

it is a great day, I no longer feel pressured to buy 5k primers regardless of price and I can relax about those ar15's for my kids. they are too young to shoot now, but I want them to be able to have a MSR of their own when the day comes. I don't need to buy now :)

regarding 22lr ammo, i can nearly reload 223 blasting ammo for the same price. . . . .ok, not quite the same price, but I am seeing the cheapest 22lr being nearly 8c per shot. i can do 223 for what, 11c per shot. 9mm for 10c per shot. I used range pickup brass (i have quite a bit). I don't think it will as ever be affordable, all i see on shelves are FGMM, ELEY or overpriced CCI

For that matter, name any politician who did everything he said he would.

That would be Richard Nixon that ran on the promise of opening trade with China and stopping the war in Vietnam. As my Dad noted actually keeping not just one but two out three campaign promises so insulted the politicians they tried to impeach him for it.

As for the Trump Presidency... Remember the popular vote is simply a poll, the only thing that matters it the Electoral College.

I'm sitting on a significant stockpile of bullets, powder and primers. Now, that's just an insurance policy. I don't feel the pressure now to go out and buy a ton of supplies and I can rest easy over the future of the AR-15.
