THe course was great. I highly recommend it for anyone with kids. The guy is a very good teacher and he stresses safety over and over and over. Primarily safety glasses. I am sure that if you put the nessessary time in on the course, you would greatly improve your point shooting, and wingshooting. I bought the course with the intention of playing around with it out in the yard. I am really paranoid about having someone call the police, being labeled a nut, breeding hate and discontent with my neighbors etc. I think I could probably get away with it, after all, I live in a rural area, but since I live in the desert, my neighbors can see everything I am doing. Long story even longer, I didn't put a lot of time into the program but I think the program is a good one.
As for the gun, it is OK. It is very similar to a Daisy BB rifle. Lever Action. The stock and fore end are wood. The stock is close to adult size. For a BB gun, it is average. That being said, it is made of metal stampings in a third world country.
