No offense, but you need something with a little class in your collection. Granted beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but few would call the Rugers or Bersas "pretty".
Might I suggeest a Browning Hi-Power or a CZ-75. (Especially those deep blued or satin nickel with wood grips).
OK--I finally made my choice and took my new baby home----after much hemmin and hawing and annoying the sales counter work force for an extended time.
A S&W M&P 9c compact----12 round mags---no magazine safety---no internal lock----with the smallest supplied grip insert and the extended base magazine---it feels great in my hand---the sights are nice and visible---although I might still get the night sights.
High up on the list were:
The full size M&P---but went with the compact now that we have concealed carry.
The FN polymer framed pistol.
S&W 638
Colt Defender
Almost went with a Colt AR-15 lightweight (not Match Target--was the real deal LEO AR---A2 collapsable stock--bayo lug---birdcage hider) that they had great price on---but I was in there for a pistol and have 3 other AR's already.
Now to go shootin and thanks for all the suggestions.
Actually the CZ's I've held (have yet to fire one) I thought felt real nice, I want to pick up a 75 Compact in .40 at some point (actually in the top 3 guns I want to get next)
To Omaha,/ M&P compact was a nice choice, supposedly really well made, reliable and a good shooter (I may have to look at the M&P series one of these days)
Having said that, to qualify for the "Cool" part, personally I'd have either gone with a Steyr M/MA-1 S/S-A1 or the P99 (QA or AS).
Either that or a Mateba Autorevolver (though that would've been out of the price range).
I would def. recommend a Steyr M A-1(9, .40SW, or .357sig). I am also gonna recommend a CZ, but I tend to like the P-01 over the SP-01, as it's a little smaller.
