don't pay for that mod-ed up norinco unless everything you're paying for is what you want. I bought a norinco 3 months ago for $100 in excelent condition, then spent another 130 on stock/mags/muzzel brake/922r compliacne. now it's exactly the platform i was looking for. Tapco t6 ($60 shipped on Ebay, or watch forums), tapco 20 round mag ($17 from aim surpluss), 40 stripper clips (9 bucks), muzzle brake (10.00 CTD), then shipping fees.

In my opinion that's a rip off price for the norinco if it's not want you exactly want...even thought i know that's a common price right now, thus making most of the prices of SKS's rip offs. You should be able to find a good SKS for under 200 if you're patient. like i said $100 for mine in Nov, then my dad got a Yugo for 150 the next week. the deals are out there... just look for them.

SKS is a great rifle!

If a higher price is not a factor, the Russians are supposed to be the best and have attractive wood.

Otherwise, a generic Norinco etc has the advantage of not having the forward c.g. cause by the Yugo's bayonet and grenade launcher, making it more awkward for plodding between cars or under tree branches.
And some Yugos have issues with gas valves and damage from corrosive Yugo ammo.

Russians and Norincos have chrome-lined bores.

That Albanian is rare these days. Most were destroyed by the U.N. and they are one of the hardest variants to get now. I have seen them fetch upwards of $500 lately.

I'd love to have a nice Russian (or Romanian for that matter) but can't find them for less than $350.
