Hi there all,

I know that I won't have any problem getting some ideas from around here, but I need to sell either my Norinco Chinese SKS or my Romanian WASR-1 AK clone and need to figure out which one should go?

If I had my choice, I would sell neither, but as the misfortunes of life go-I need to let one hit the road.

Any ideas?

Chris

The SKS is more collectible, but the WASR is at more risk of being banned at some point in the future (assuming it's set up for double-stack mags), though that's not as likely as it once was.

AK clones are all over the place, and I don't see any immediate threat to their continued availability. A Chinese SKS is worth keeping, as they've been out of production for decades, and no more will be made.

If worst comes to worst and an anti-gun administration bans AK's, it's unlikely that SKS's will also be banned.

Hi there guys,

I had lunch with a friend who was crying about the SKS he sold years ago and has recently bought the Romanian WASR-1.

He said the same thing.

I made him buy lunch.

$

How much money do you need right away? How much can you get for each one? You might get $150 for the SKS, $300 for the AK. If you need $300, no use selling the SKS.

Tough choice, but even tougher to be in the dilemma. :(

Hi chopinblock,

Not today. They are out surfing and playing at the beach.

Besides, it's Christmas.

As far as values go, the SKS is worth about $300.00 (average gunbroker prices) right now with prices driven up with the current ban on importation of Chinese firearms. The wholesale on WASR-1 is about $293.00 from Southern Ohio Guns according to my monthly flyer.

I wouldn't be crying except I picked up a NIB SA Champion last week on a trade.

Christmas came early!!!!
