well as always heres my .02.

get somthing that runs cheap ammo, as youll need a lot of practice to get this to work.

two beretta neos would do it or a pair of taurus m 85 .38's would be my suggestion or somthing similar.

there isnt really a practical application for this the only thing it does is throw a lot of led, fast. its more for trick shooting. they way two guns works is that you have to learn to alternate trigger pulls and targeting.

1st learn to shoot weak side
2nd learn to shoot alternatly, speed it up after your comfortable
3rd learn to aim, i find this works by tilting the top of the guns into each other so the sights area little closer together, makes it easier for your eyes to switch back and forth or it gives you a rough point of aim in between the pistols , remember the closer they are together the tighter your spread. this doesnt work for guns with high recoil cause they WILL bang together, not good. tilting also points the ejection paths away from each other if the guns eject brass straight out to the right. i.e. two right hand ejecting guns, right gun throws brass up and to the right while left throws down and to the right(its still a little messy though).
4th forget reloading, both hands are tied up with guns, the only way to reload is to holster one reload the other holster it get the other reload it pull the other one and go back at it. very very slow. this will get you killed in real life.

just my .02, i got interested in doing the same thing a while back. it's fun expensive noise. and it's a neat trick to do once and a while.

good luck. be safe.

p.s. you have to be extra careful while practicing because you have two loaded guns to watch.

Alright Walking Arsenal you realize that since you are the official two gun shooting instructor we are all expecting you to post a detailed downloadable lesson plan. It should inlcude video and pictures, and maybe even a few diagrams. :D

:D

I want two pistols, one for each hand, and I want the total cost of both guns to be at maximum $450. Must be same model. Which guns would YOU choose?
I sometimes shoot dual SIG P210-6. Slick trigger action, clear sight picture, consistent ejection trajectory. All you need is a time machine to fit them into your budget.

ok, I plan on buying two FEG PA-63s this summer. I might try the one in each hand thing once or twice but thats not why I'm buying them. I'm buying them because they are cool and inexpensive.

A pair of police trade in revolvers, like the model 10. Read McGivern .

I was about 8-10 yrs old , and watching the black and white cowboy shows, I wanted to try this. I get that look and a hrruump only a Uncle can give. I tried the model 10's I tried a pair of 1911's...

Uncle - "if you will pay attention the fella is shooting one then the other one....just because something is on TV don't mean squat".

So the cowboys were "sissies" I watched on TV. :)
The advice about TV and movies is still spot on tho' it seems...I ain't a McGivern, but I do shoot one gun at a time.

So would be 1963 or 1965 I learned these lessons... TV ( movies) ain't changed except maybe for the worse on "how stuff is portrayed". :)

Tip : Do not attempt the firing of 1) both shotguns barrels at same time, 2) firing a shotgun in each hand, at same time...at that age...any age...boy did I get an "awakening" that day. I viewed TV from a whole different perspective from that age on.

Steve...with a degree from "Stupid University" and Ongoing Graduate work from the "School of Hard Knocks". :D

FWIW , the pistols were a whole bunch "funner" than the shotguns. :p

I have a couple of pairs.

I am not a bad ass, but I don't think I fit the "dumb" category either. It's called having fun people! and It's not always unsafe, stupid, careless or infantile. Try it some time.

I can't hit the target consitantly with my weak hand shooting with two guns...but I have yet to miss the backstop.

As for the original question...your budget is very confining for 2 guns. I'd suggest used Llama's, but that would be a damn poor recommendation.

Smoke

A real badass can hit two different targets, firing a single shot from each firearm simultaneously, like whoozit Baldwin in The Usual Suspects.

I tried this two fisted shooting once.....2 Kimber .45's one in each hand. :D Blasting away at the same time........holes all over the target except in the bullseye...... :uhoh: Range dude chuckling behind me as I tried to be Chow Yun Fat........ Wasn't there a George Hill thread on this topic?..... Anyway, did much better when I alternated back and forth.... This time I was getting bulls.:D

Well, at least you didn't ask about "duel" pistols...those were used in pairs, with each opponent using one. Briefly.

And, I'm glad to see that you knew how to spell, "dual". Too many on the forums can't.

You might be able to pick up two used S&W M&P (Model 10) revolvers for $500, but at least one probably won't be in really nice condition.

I think the Makarov boys have a point. Oh: check out those .380's made in Argentina. They're sort of a cross between Beretta and Walther features, and get good press. Aha! Bersa!

Lone Star

Makarovs, Tokarevs, or CZ-52's. Maybe Star BM's.
I would also like to have a second P-225 but not for that. I want a spare in case something happens to the one I have. ;)
Whatever floats your boat I guess... :D

Fixed barrels for accuracy, 380 or 38 Special. BERSA 380s.
My double column BERSAs were much more.

Bersas or their upgrade line, FireStorms... dependable.

Bargainguns.com has a nice search thingo on their page.

It wasn't long ago that I was very tempted into buying two Llama .45 double stacks and making a custom small of the back holster so that they sit top to top, pointing down with the handles out each side...

Then I came to my senses about 1) wasting money 2) Llama's and 3) usefulness of two handed shooting...

Don't forget about an abixtrious safetey for that left hand!!

Hahahahaha...interesting posts, guys?

I went throug my experimental phase too! Tried the 'other' various shooting techniques, including 2 handed with a pair of Colt 1911's. While it was challenging and interesting, and maybe one could achieve a level of proficiency with practise,,,I do not see any real value to it.
A steady stream of brass and bullet's does not make up for a couple of precise hits on a target...or on multiple targets...one for each and go back for seconds. Blasting away with both leaves you with two empty guns and no quick way to reload either one.
I often carry two, but I shoot them one at a time...reloading the primary as necessary and the 2nd is a NY reload or back up. Sometimes I even pack a pair of Colt 1911's(one a Government, ParaLDA,or new CCO backed up by a LW Officer's), most of the time it is a 1911 backed up with a Jay frame .38. But regardless of what I carry, I shoot one at a time with precision, keep the second for reserve.
And TWO for 500 bucks? Rather get one of quality! But if you got to execise yer demons and fun movie fantasies...a pair of Ruger 22/45's would fit into the budget allowing alot of cheapo ammo to be bought, and giving you the non-recoiling hollywood super japper. It also lets you know you are playing when you use the .22's, not training. And when you get tired of that you have two nice .22's to work on serious marksmanship.
That said, I'd add.....
Shooting is a fun activity, but personal combatives is a serious affair, You respond to a threat how you have been trained(or practised). Video games and hollyweird movies ARE not training. Life can be complicated enough...try not to confuse yourself too much. It is vital to be able to shoot with each hand, BUT to stack the odds in your favor...you must be accurate, fast and with a realistic level of power.
If you KNOW you are getting into a fight......it is time to withdraw, call for back up or grab a shoulder gun.

I to made a dual belt holster...but for 2 kel-tec p-11's...Was fun for awhile, now I just use them as "range" guns...Yea I do practice with them, but one at a time...***

P-11's might be right in the range you are looking for...One thing that hasnt been said is...BUDGET SOME MONEY FOR 2 HOLSTERS!!!! a dual rig is gonna cost ya... Well one that is comfortable anyway

***Please note...This is not a production item...SO IT ISNT SHAMELESS SELFPROMOTION!:D :D :D

I think that the Walther P-22's would be a blast (pun intended:D) to use in this way...Cheap as well..

2 Star BM's will set you back about $300 and leave you enough for 1000rd for each... Just to throw gas on the fire I have two consec ser num BM's I bought about 12-13 years ago, paid more then that for 'em back then.
