I'm at work today and I've been there for about 7 months now. My coworkers have started to figure me out, you might say. One of the crazier ones comes up to me and says: "You carry a gun, right." I hem and haw for a sec. He says "you have that look, you know?" I just freeze, not wanting to say either way. I sputter out "I can't carry here, company rules" or something to that effect. Then the conversation is done and he walks off like we just chatted about the fine weather. This is the same employee that refers to me as "Mr. Mellow". I guess he's had worse supervisors.
Funny thing is, I DON'T carry yet. I'm in the process of getting my permit (Had the class, waiting on next month's budget for the fee) but I've never carried a gun anywhere on my person in public.
I think that this encounter speaks to my mindset, keeping in condition Yellow, not White. I'm not standing out like a LEO, but I'm not the same as all the sheep either.
Thoughts?
