I would appreciate any opinions on this safe.

Anyone have any opinions,good or bad, about this safe. Wifes friend house burnt to the ground and they lost everything. Wife wants a safe to put mementos inand I will store some toys in it as well. Safe would be in basement and fire dept would be 5 minutes away. Not overly concerned with break ins but you never know.

Winchester is a Granite. All of the Granites are now imported, and some of them have non UL rated locks. Not a big fan of those. The ones using UL rated locks are OK for what they are.

If you are really concerned about a fire, a gun safe is the last thing you should be looking at. You would be better off buying a safe with a real UL fire rating.
