IAI 1911 - Feedback

My local gunshop has an IAI (Israel Arms International) 1911 that is very reasonably priced. Does anyone have any experience with this company and can rate the quality of their firearms? I figure with all that goes on in Israel, they're guns better go boom. Thanks for the help.

The defunct Israel Arms International Inc. of Houston, TX.
briefly sold 1911-type pistols manufactured by KSN Industries, Ltd. of
Kfar Saba, Israel. These pistols have a fairly passable reputation.

I've been told there are IaI 1911's that were imported from the Philippines,
from SAM (Shooters Arms Manfacturing), back when their quality was
not too good (to put it mildly). These pistols generally have a bad rep.

I'd check the rollmarkto see if the IaI in question is Israeli or Philippine
(or even other) in origin. Good luck!
