I have a slight problem with my Beretta 92F. The "Bruniton" finish has quite a bit of holster wear and I've thought about refurbishing the whole gun. Maybe having Beretta do it, maybe DLC coating it, I have no idea yet. The thing is, the rear sight is also worn and instead of anodizing or painting it, I might replace it with a new one.

Now here's the tricky bit: I don't think the adjustable rear sight is OEM. And I don't have a clue what it might be or who made it. The only marking on it is number "8" as seen here. I bought the gun second hand a long time ago from a LGS that went under a couple of years later so there's no-one left to ask.

Any ideas what it might be? I've googled this, trying to match it with something - anything - and come across nothing quite like it so far.

That slide looks like it was heavily milled to install that sight. The current dovetail is significantly further forward than a "normal" 92FS dovetail.

Your dovetail is above the extractor, while a 92FS dovetail is aft of the extractor. https://www.beretta.com/en-us/beretta-92fs/

I don't know what you have, but you may be stuck with it, unless you want to weld up the slide to get the dovetail back where it is supposed to be, or it may be easier to just go further and have it cut for an optic.

You didn't mention it in the OP, and it is kind of a significant point, and I was just making sure you were aware of it, and how it would affect your options.

No, I don't know who made that sight.

Looks like the sight itself has been modified, like the male dovetail appears to be a separate piece, and that huge elevation screw doesn't look at home.
