I'd sure love to carry my P365 comfortably.

I have to admit that I also have concerns about the Sig P365.

Last spring I went on a mission to find a smaller semi-auto carry gun. I had a Glock 26, but found myself not carrying it more and more. It felt like a BRICK!! I fell back on my BUG, my S&W442. I had been researching the Sig P365 and figured it was the Holy Grail! So, I sold my Glock AND my S&W 442 and bought one!

I took it to the range multiple times before carrying. The light trigger always concerned me. I just was not comfortable with it. I sold it off recently and I am going back to all revolver carry.

So, you keep going round and round with revolver carry ? I find myself going back and forth between my semi autos ... <jk>

I do not and will never appendix carry. But if that is your preference, I don't see why having the gun in the holster when you slip it on would be a problem, so long as the trigger is totally covered by the holster. If you just used the gun for self defense, you'd want it at the ready in case the perp or animal came at you again, and when the cops show up you'd better be putting it on the ground, not re-holstering.

If you are re-holstering a gun, say at the range, and you aren't LOOKING down to see what you are doing, then you should not appendix carry.

I guess I'm just trying to think of a situation where things could go wrong, and I'm not coming up with anything if you are careful. I choose to carry IWB at 4:00 though. A flesh wound to my ass is easier to fix than a blown off set of family jewels or a femoral artery.

Guess what I'm saying is that while you might like appendix carry, you don't actually sound comfortable with it. I acknowledge it can be done safely, but I don't care, and am not comfortable with it in any circumstance.

Might want to consider quasi appendix (though it's closer to the actual appendix) with some forward cant.

I carry at about 1-2 o'clock with forward cant, conceals better than 12 o'clock straight drop and is more comfortable with my belly (for me) and with the forward cant and a 4" gun (Glock 19) the barrel is pointing along my side of my hip at all times, never at my jewels or femoral.

Then again when I did a straight drop 12 o'clock the Glock 19 usually sat on top of my junk and pointed between my legs at all times (sitting or standing) so I wasn't really every super concerned on that front, apart from basic deep concern for safety with a loaded weapon, regardless of style.

Personally I can never get comfortable with 4 oclock or further back, can't stand holstering where I can't LOOK the gun into a clear holster, YMMV

Get the manual safety conversion kit for your 365 (you'll need a grip module with the manual cut out as well). I can appreciate your concern with appendix carry, the safety might help with that. I carry my Hellcat in my pocket all the time, I just trust myself with it more.

I will never carry appendix-style. I follow the number one rule of never pointing my firearm at something I don't want to shoot. My junk is very high up on the list of things I don't want to shoot.

Others think it's the best thing ever, and that's fine. As long as there isn't a gun pointed at my junk, I'm fine with whatever others want to do.

I carry the P365 with a manual safety in an OWB paddle holster with level II retention at around 3:30 position most of the time. Also use a leather IWB or a Remora IWB when need more concealment.

Didja like the Glock 26 trigger? Try out a Glock 43X or Glock 48..I sold my G26 and bought a G48...couldn't be happier.

I had a p290rs. It was too heavy and the long DAO trigger didn't go well with the small grips. I shoot my S&W revolvers fine but their triggers are way smoother and the grips are larger. I sold the p290rs and bought a p938. I love the trigger and lighter weight. Last year I bought a p365 with manual safety and really like it. For me the trigger is too light not to have the manual safety, but that's just me. All the autos I own now have a manual safety.

I'm a firm believer that most striker guns don't need a manual safety, but the 365 I had and the Walther PPQ are two that were right on that line of comfort for me

Nsomniac: I understand your concern and share it to a large extent. My CC's for long while were Kahr/s all of which have a long smooth trigger pull more akin to a revolver. Have bought and sold a couple of 9mm's with triggers too light for my taste. Mainly too little take up. But fairly recently i got a 365XL with the straight trigger (not that that has much to do with it) and find myself happy with the amount of take up before it "lets off". You can feel when it reaches that point. Work with it some more and I believe you will gain confidence with it.
