perhaps it is due to fatigue, but I had a revelation for a new Smith and Wesson revolver.

why don't they make a scandium X frame with a titanium cylinder in 357mag? It would probably weight close to a regular L or N frame, and i would think it could hold 10 rounds

I'm sure someone would buy it.

Am I crazy?

You're a sick sick person.

But I like the way you think.:D

Gimme a 15 round .22lr version of the same thing and yer golden.

mind if I expound on your idea a bit?

why not a 357 maximum? Rate it for more pressure than the 460s&w mag for us handloaders. The whole reason they made the X frame in the first place was for us crazy A-holes that love ridiculous amounts of power and velocity.

I actually often have wondered myself why they havent expanded their horizons for the X frames. There is SO much potential for SO many different things there.

I'd be more excited overs seeing the x-frame chambered in .44 magnum. Or maybe .44 mag+p, or .445. I know some Alaskans prefer the Ruger Redhawk over the model 629 because it can handle hotter loads for bear defense.

And why not the n-frame in .327 magnum? That would have to hold 9 shots, at least.

S&W actually making a shrouded barrel .357 Maximum DA revolver after the ridicule they heaped on Dan Wesson? That would be fun to see.

How about The scandium/titanium set up that NOLAEMT proposed but with 8 rounds of .41mag with a 4.5 inch bbl.
