Identify this rifle?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what kind of rifle is in this video from the 0:06 to 0:17 mark? It looks like a Browning BAR perhaps but I'm not sure.

I'd say your right on thinking it's a Browning BAR, definitely what it looks like to me.

Looks to me like a Remington 7400 or some earlier variant on that model.

The receiver shape is distinct from a commercial BAR and quite a bit smaller.

There's more of the rifle from 0:39 to 0:47 if it helps. It does probably look more like a Remington 7400 than a BAR.

Cosmoline has got it right it definitely looks like a Remington Woodmaster 740/7400.

The Browning was the first that came to my mind, but I now agree with the Remington suggestion.

But I think the most important question hasn't been asked: Why?

Yes its the Remington. The BAR has a squared receiver not a nice rounded one.
