That is the people's rifle. From the end of WWII. Produced by the Germans as a stop gap, quick production, mass use gun for the populace. I can't recall the official model number.

Yep, Correia's got it. The "Volksgwher". ("The Peoples Rifle")

There was also the Volkspistole too. Kind of looked like a P38 if monkeys made it....

And HK rolled out the designation again when they created the VP70 machine pistol with the stock that allowed full-auto fire.

Although in that case the designation bothers me, would just anyone in Germany be allowed a VP70 today?

Uses the round and magazine from the StG44.
Delayed blowback: gases vented from barrel into sleeve
around barrel retard the opening of the action til the
bullet had left the barrel.

VG makes the Sten look like a Jaguar.

VG1-5...Bought mine for $700.00 or so back in 1985
Sold another one at auction a couple years ago for over $20,000.00
I guess my investment paid off
