Your 65-3 .357 Miltary & Police stainless was manufactured between January 1986 (AHVxxxx) & July 1987 (AVBxxxx). The model 65 was produced from 1972 to 2005. The model 65-3 variant was introduced in 1982 and continued until 1988. The 65-3 deleted the pinned barrel and counterbored cylinders, guns with these features were commonly known as 'pinned and recessed'. The 65-3 was the stainless steel variant of the Model 13 issued to the FBI.

ronlt55: 1958, Serial range for that year was K317823 to K350547. Should be a model 17 as model numbers were introduced in 1957. The model number will be stamped on the frame under the cylinder yoke.

Snipermtd24: You have a Post war .32 Hand Ejector, after 1957 these became the Model 30. Built on the I frame and later the improved I frame (I frame used a flat main spring, Improved I frame used a coil main spring). Serial range was 536685 to 712953, made between 1946 & 1960. Caliber was .32 S&W long. Barrel length should be 3.25 inches. The Improved I frame was introduced in 1953, if your gun has a screw in the front of the trigger guard and another in the front of the grip frame then it is an I frame. Without those it is an Improved I frame. In very good condition the Standard Catalog of S&W gave a value of $300 in 2006. Value is heavily dependent on condition however.

content: DCTxxxx put's your gun later than the serial ranges recorded in the Standard Catalog of S&W, which cuts off at serial range CTAxxxx in October 2004. The 642-2 was introduced in 2002, the main change being the addition of the internal lock and the address being reduced to 2 lines from 4. I'm sorry I can give you anything better than later than October 2004.
