Do you DOB auto-loaders?

I recently acquired a 4006 s.n. TFM70xx . Standard, Stainless, .40 S&W, adj sights. I sure would like to know the mfg date, if you can help...

Thanks,
Les

10mm+P:
Between August 1994 (BRFxxxx) & January 1996 (CAMxxxx). The number only sequences are assembly numbers, used to track parts in the factory. They are irrelevant once the gun has been assembled.

wrs840:
1990. The 4006 was produced from 1990 to 1999.

Excellent Post

38 Special CTG
4" Barrel
Square Butt
Six Shot
Fixed Sights
V 512xxx
also, when i drop the cylinder there seems to be 55542 stamped there in the crane area and possibly a single "5" or an "S"

This going to be a thread for those who are looking for a date of manufacture for their S&W revolvers.

We'd need to know :

a) caliber
b) bbl length (from cylinder to muzzle)
c) grips shape (round or square)
d) number of shots/cylinder bores
e) type of sights.
f) serial number, and if there is a letter in front of or anywhere near the s/n on the bottom of the grip
g) Model number if it is under the crane.
That number, if it is the s/n, should come from the butt of the grip (or under the barrel or face of the cylinder).

A picture or two is worth A LOT of words in this case...
.38 S.&W. SPL.

b) 8.375" barrel
c) square butt

f) 34K87XX
g) 14-4

Thanks,
Les

Pre-Model 14.
It's a K-38 Target Masterpiece made in 1948.

If it says Model 14 on it anywhere, you gave the wrong serial number, as Model numbers didn't start on them until 1957..

Can someone please supply a production date for:

a) .357 Magnum
b) 4" barrel
c) square butt
d) six shot
e) fixed sights
f) 8D138XX
g) 13-2

Thank you very much!

A little help please

Would like to know DOB and maybe ballpark value?

* 38 spl
* 2 inch barrel
* Round grip
* 6 shot
* fixed sight
* serial # 8D09236
* Model 10-7
* Nickel finish

943721 = 1940 - 1945 - If it is a lend-lease, it should say United States Property, or U.S. Property on top strap.

Model 13-2 8D138XX = 1981

Model 10-7 8D09236 = 1981
