After a short search, I have found a very nice Model 14-4. I have done some searching, and I think the dash 4 dates it to the 77-82 window, but I haven't been able to narrow it down beyond that.

It is the standard Model 14-4, .38 Spl, 6" barrel, adj sights, with S&W target grips and the wide hammer and trigger. The s/n is 76K73xx. Any additional info appreciated. Thanks...

GRIZ1911:
That is a nice pre-war .32 Regulation Police. It has a modified round butt with a notch in the back strap that special square butt conversion grips fitted to. Aftermarket grips may not fit.
Your gun probably shipped in 1923 as serial number 379xxx and 389xxx shipped that year. S&W stockpiled frames and grabbed the first to hand, so a 327xxx serial number also shipped that year. Thus 'probably'.

It has a heat treated cylinder, so any current factory ammo will be safe to shoot.

It lacks the positive hammer block safety introduced in 1944 after a fatality with a dropped gun. I would treat it as a five shooter, leaving the chamber under the hammer empty.

Here's an older one...
Not sure of model since I just got this a few mins ago...
Top break, safety hammerless (not sure which model)
Seems to be a 38sw but isn't marked.
5 shot
"Round" grips (did they have any square butt topbreaks?)
Last listed patent date is Jun 3, 90
Serial 1162xx.
Barrel measures 3 1/4

This beauty needs a cylinder stop and then she's good to go.

I can't help you with value, I'm Australian and don't have my finger on the pulse of US prices. That gun falls into the serial range for 1966-67, with '67 being more likely.
Is the medallion on the side plate original? Can you post a close up?
Is the caliber .45 Long Colt or .45 ACP?

Hi Here is some more pic i think the side plate is original and i do a Value you're thoughts on it i just got it in trade . and it is marked 45 cal . so i know 45auto rimmed or apc with moon clips.

I can't find any reference to a Marine Corps commemorative, so that may be aftermarket work. I suggest you start a new thread to discuss your gun. You will get more views and hopefully more answers.

I got another one I'd like some info on please.

Model 686 no dash, 6" barrel,: AAL3xxx

For what it's worth this doesn't have the M stamp from the 686 recall.
