I just shot my first real IDPA Match this weekend, and all I can say is, What a blast! I shot the classifying match last month, and had a good time. It kind off reminded me of shooting in the GSSF. But it was nothing compared to a real IDPA match.

One of the biggest things I walked away from the match with is an idea of what combat skills I have already and what skills I need to work on.

If you have never shot an IDPA match, you need to find a local IPDA club and participate in one of their matches!

There are a few clubs in Indiana that are part of the IDPA. Here is a link of them from the IDPA web site http://www.idpa.com/clublist.asp?state=IN

I am going to the IDPA matches at the Wildcat Valley Rifle and Pistol Club. They are about 15 minutes North of Lafayette. If your are interested in shooting there I can email you directions. Their IDPA shoots are the second Saturday of every month and usually start signups at 9:30 and the matches start at 10:00.

What a small world

I just shot my first IDPA match last weekend at Wildcat Valley Rifle and Pistol Club also. What division are you in? I shoot in the CDP division. I have to agree with you that it was a blast and I would also encourage everyone who hasn't tried it to do so.

I shot CDP this last weekend. Placed 15th out of 16. I've got a ways to get yet. I haven't been able to go practice at all this year though. I just starting to work on the things I can at home. I'll probably shoot in the SSP the next two matches though. I've got a Walther P99QA and a Beretta 92 Elite II that I want to put through their paces. Then I'll go back to shooting CDP.
