If you could only have a few revolvers, what would they be?

-S&W .500
-Ruger Super Redhawk 7.5" .454
-Ruger SUper Redhawk 7.5" .480
-Ruger Super Redhawk 7.5" .44
-Ruger Super Blackhawk 5.5" .44
-Ruger Redhawk chopped to 4" .44
-Ruger GP100 4" .357
-Ruger SP101 2" .357
-Ruger SP101 4" .22LR

That would pretty much cover everything that I wanted to do with a revolver :)

What I already have......
3" GP100 s/s - probably my favorite revolver - accurate too!
4" GP100 s/s - accurate w/adj. sights and a little more sight radius
4 5/8" s/s .44 Mag. Ruger Vaquero - hey, mine shoots to POA
4 5/8" s/s Ruger SuperBlackhawk (.44 Mag)
4 5/8" Ruger Blackhawk in .41 Mag.
6 1/2" Ruger Single-Six (.22)

What I don't have but wish I did......
S&W mod 27 - any 4"-5" variant (If Skeeter Skelton liked it, 'nuff said)
Ruger Redhawk (.44 Mag) in 5 1/2, but preferably shortened to 4"
- enough others to need a truck to carry it all......

Wunderkind has a great idea - an M10. I just bought a new (1-03 production!) M10-11 with a 2" barrel (got your snubby needs covered) from CDNN ($280).

I would have to have an N-frame big bore - a 4" (or 5") 625 and a bunch of moonclips. Fun to shoot - and ammo is plentiful and widely available.

I like the looks, feel, and operation of the good old 625 (.45 Colt) and 629 (.44 Magnum) Mountain Guns. The 629 MG would also chamber the .44 Russian and .44 S&W Special. Sadly, try to find .45 Colt ammo at Wally World, etc. I like both of mine... hard decision which I'd 'keep'.

For a great kinetic energy range (10:1), and in case you run into wayward pachyderms, you cannot beat a 7.5" Super Redhawk in .454 Casull. It will take .45 Colts, wimpy to harsh, and .454 Casull, harsh to uh-oh... I suppose it would chamber .45 Schofields (.45 S&W), too... I just haven't tried those in mine. This revolver has superior ergonomics - .454's are much less severe than the milder .44 Magnums in my MG.

Oh, and I'd have to have my one evil-bottom-feeder - a .22LR Ruger MKII - just too dependable and way too much fun!

What's a few? Let's say 12 is alot so 6 is a few

1. A 6" 29/629

2. Any bbl length 625 in 45ACP

3. A 6" 17/617/K-22

4. Any model Airweight Bodyguard/Centennial style J frame

5. Any 3" or 4" K or L frame 357 with adj sights.

6. Any 34 or 63 Kit Gun

Hmmmm.. I look in my safe and .... YES! Got all of em except the Kit Gun

:)

One handgun only

Were I made to comply with such an odious state of affairs, I might have to choose a Performance Center S&W stainless 357 3 inch Model 66-6 F Comp with rosewood grips. I was fortunate to obtain delivery this past Friday.
This firearm is a work of art. The balance is superb, trigger pull sharp with no creep, no lag. The workmanship is superlative. Fired about 150 rounds thru it this weekend. The perceived recoil very acceptable. Now I am awaiting the S&W 500
44caliber

I only need four for now...

2) Colt Diamondbacks 4" barrels 1-38Spl, 1-22LR
1) Ruger SP-101 3" barrel, 357 Mag
1) Smith and Wesson 329 PD 4" barrel, 44Mag

And then for my wish list:

1) Colt SAA Second generation 5.5" Barrel, 45Colt

I feel like Steve Martin in the Jerk. All I need is these guns and...this thermos. Thats all I need these guns, this thermos and this remote...

1. Colt Python snubby, for carry.
2. Colt Cobra, for carry.
3. Smith 58 41 magnum, because it rocks.
4. Smith 13 357 magnum, it rocks also.

I would be very happy with those four, in fact I already am. :D :D

1. S&W Model 1950 Target, 4" in 44 Spl.
2. Colt SAA, 5-1/2" in 45 LC
3. S&W Registered Magnum, 5"
4. Ruger Flattop, 4-3/4" in .357 Mag.
5. S&W 5 screw K-22, 4"
6. S&W M-66, 4" (gotta have something I can beat around with)

I notice that I and everyone else forgot about Freedom Arms, so I need to amend my list adding a few more FA SA revolvers in .22 LR, .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum and .454! Dennis

At least a dozen assorted N frames in .44 Magnum, .45ACP and .45 Colt
A few K Frames in .357 Magnum
A few K frames in .22LR

Blackhawks in .44 Magnum and .45 Colt.

Still need these :)
Colt Python
Colt SAA (A shooting iron, not a display piece)

A Freedom Arms in .454 Casuall with a spare .45 Colt cylinder.

Is that more than a few? :)

guess $2000 revolvers dont have many fans/friends here.

Just not a real big single-action fan, that's all. (I've got more than enough work to do trying to round up all the S&W's I want... :uhoh: )

Semi-autos far outnumber revolvers in my collection. Currently I only have 2 revolvers, a Taurus 85UL and a S&W 629 .44 Magnum with 3" barrel. About the only other one I want is a small, snubby .357, either a S&W 60 or Ruger SP-101.

Maybe someday the revolver bug will finally bite me...

Currently have:

S&W 642- looked new when I got it , looks like hell now..(wonder how that happened? :D )

S&W 686- soon to be sold due to a comparable revolver being given to me

Ruger GP-100 4"- a gift from my mom...:what: ...and is replacing my 686

On my " list"

Ruger Bearcat 5.5" .22lr/.22mag

Ruger Vaquero 5.5" in .44 mag

Taurus 441/S&W 296- lightweight .44 spl.

"Wish" revos

S&W 329 (26 oz. .44 mag..........because you never get a second chance to make a first impression.)

S&W Lew Horton 629 3" round butt and ported.......wow

S&W 610 4"

S&W model 38 bodyguard......beautiful blued perfection in a carry revolver

I kind of enjoy figuring out for myself just how many a few is. 10-Ring must of done this on purpose..:)

For today, I want all Smith's, blued. At least two of each: 3 1/2" pre M27, 3" and 4" M24, M640-1 (not blued but I want them anyway), 3" M19, and 4" M586's. Add a scoped 8" M29.

RE: S&W Lew Horton 629 3" round butt and ported.......wow

I have an old c1983 3" 629. Not ported. The recoil wasn't as bad as I expected, either that or my hand was numb after the first shot. I think my 4" 629 has more powerful recoil.

A Few???

Did anyone mention the Ruger Bearcat? = I'll have a Pair thank you! = Just because they're so CUTE :D
S&W K-22 round butt/square butt, 4" & 6"barrels = One of each please!:p
Ditto S&W 'N' frames... One lil' 'J' frame ...
H&R 999 Sportsman - a Pair of these:cool:
Oh Yea, Back to Ruger - I'd like to get my hands on an "Old Army" .44 cap&ball, a stainless steel C&B singleaction makes all kinds of sense and the thing belches smoke & flame in a most satisfactory fashon.
Colts? Well, I wouldn't turn away an Officers Model .38spl with target sights.

OK, these are fun, and after re-reading the original post, if I picked just four or five, I would go for the following:
a M640-1, a Colt Magnum Carry, a 4" M19, and a 4" M24. If a 5th was allowed, I would add any 3" K frame .357.

If it was just two, I'd really prefer the M640-1 and the 4" M24.

Well being a semi auto man I admit I still like revolvers for some uses. I would keep my Smith Centienial, Smith 610, Colt Python and Cowboy, Ruger Single six and my Ruger/Hamilton Bowen 5 shot 45 colt Redhawk.

I would also like to own a Smith 10 and get some old time leather gear just to see how bad the old time cops had it. I would also like to see how hard it would be to pass a qualification with dump pouches.

I pretty much have what I want for revolvers:

.44 Mag = Redhawk
.45 Colt SAA style = Vaquero
.357 snub = SP101

About the only ones left that I want would be a Python or Anaconda (classics, and I like their styling. a mix of the Elegence of S&W, and the 'beefiness' of Ruger) and a S&W 610 (for pin shoots/idpa/and having a revolver that shoots 40/10mm)

And maybe a Super Redhawk in a 'big' big bore, either 454 or 480 Ruger.

and maybe a BFR in 45/70 simply for the big eyed looks it gets!

S&W: Model 34 4" nickle RB .22, Model 36-1 3" adj sights, Model 19 2 1/2 nickle, Model 27(pre # actually) 3 1/2" blued, Model 29 8 3/8 blued and 629 Mountain revolver. I have a couple dozen other Smiths but just one= 629 Mountain Revolver (1989 production) Colts: SAA gen II, .44 spl/44/40 combo 5 1/2 " Nickle, PreWar 1911a1 National match, Python 1958prod 6" Blued, Cobra 1969 2" nickle .38spl, Officer's model Match .22 1962 Production (given to me NEW by my late father) Just one?=1911a1 1937 National Match(was my late father's) and I have a dozen other Colts besides!:D
