If you could only have one Revolver...

If Colt would make just one more
production run on Pythons and KC's
I would clear out a 401k buying them up

Mine would have to be an S&W K-22 Masterpiece or a 5.5" Freedom Arms 97 in .22 LR. I have owned the former and own the latter, and I cannot think of any revolvers that produce a bigger grin.

Only one revolver?

Colt Python, .357mag, 6" barrel, satin stainless.

I think I'd have to go with a Freedom Arms Model 97 in .45 Colt, 5 1/2" barrel.
I'm surprised how few Freedom Arms have been brought up in this thread...no love for single actions I guess :)

I definitely love single actions, but I guess the cost gets in my way even though this is a wish list. . . . lol . . . . . I have never felt poorly armed with my Super Blackhawk.

These "if you could only have one" don't really serve any real funtion except they are fun which sometimes in life that all you need. For me in my present situration I would keep my 642 as my only revolver since it what I use off duty all the time. But I read a long time ago and tend to agree with is that the best all around revolver with the exception of concealed carry is a 4" 357/38 but I think I would perfer a 3" that might fill the conceald carry duty a little better. Now if it was only one handgun it would be a 3" .357/.38 more then not the ruger sp 101.

be safe

I never play by the rules on these "just one threads" but I do like to play along.

So one of these below, all but one .357, in order of desire:

S&W 642 (.38 spl +P)
S&W M&P R8
S&W Model 28 6"
S&W 686 6", 7-rounder
Ruger GP-100 6"
S&W 686 4"
Ruger GP-100 4"
Colt Trooper 6"

You will see a dicotomy here.

My first choice is the 642 because it is small, light, pocketable, and could work in just about every situation to some extent. It fits very well into life in an urban environment where nearly all of us live.

The others are are all conspicously large and heavy...what I would call "outdoor guns". The 4" models would be usable for CC in an urban environment with the right clothes.

If I were hanging out in the deep woods or the desert I'd want one of the big ones.

That was fun.

If I could only keep one it would be my K22 Outdoorsman, made in 1938, and shoots like a dream.
