If you had to purchase a new (or used) knife...

One last question, has anyone purchased or used one of the 'Wave' Spyderco knives? It looks interesting, but somewhat gimmiky. As well, I have to keep the consideration that IF I happen to leave my guthook at home like I did this last deer season I'll be using my pocket knife as the field stripping blade. The 'hook' on that Wave option just looks like trouble.

I'm really hovering on the Delica or the Griptillian 555, VG-10 steel vs 154CM, and I do like the fact that the Delica is flat saber-ground as well.

Well folks, I ended up buying a new Spyderco Delica 4 with the straight edge, and I tell you this is one excellent knife. It's lightweight, but it just FITS in my hand. The thumbrest comes in very handy, and the VG-10 steel looks like it will hold an edge just fine.

Ironically while talking to some friends about my dilemma, one of them told me about a small group of knives he bought from a wholesaler and there were some of the Camillius Heat knives. I asked more about them, and he just whipped one out of his briefcase and gave it to me!! I was of course very thankful of the gift, but man the difference between the knives is night and day. The Heat is larger by nearly 1/2" but the weight is very different, probably the liner. Anyway it is another straight blade, but with the black finish (not really my style), but interesting nonetheless.

Razel..... Fixed pocket knife. 2" and 3" blades.

I also like my crkt m21, 3" blade, love the flipper.
Benchmade Pika II, there is a mini that' is at 3".
Byrd Line, cheaper spydercos. Flight is a nice oen. 3" I think, have it in g-10, can also get it with frn, or stainless handles.
