If you lived/live in a 'free state' and you could pick One Fully-Automatic firearm...

20K - with realistic prices. It would be a Glock 18 and a Toyota Camry as a holster. :D

Ma Duce is great but you should have a lot of room for fun. We have a full auto shoot here usually twice a year and I have fired most things a few times.

Thompsons are really very heavy with either stick or drum mag. BAR's run a bit slow or so they seem to me. The M3 that is usually around here was a lot of fun but the owner thought it was running a bit fast.

No MG 42 showed up so that is one I would like to try sometime BUT my favorite and the one I spent the most money on year after year was a PPsh41.

Drum or stick mag this was always a great blast. Fairly controllable, reasonable weight and put a lot of rounds down range in a hurry.

I even considered purchasing this particular piece but figured it was a lot cheaper for me to buy the ammo and rent the gun for as seldom as I would be able to shoot it.

Something just occurred to me: How about one of those Vulcan-type rigs with the multiple rotating barrels?

I saw a Knob Creek video with a guy shooting one with short barrels (12 to 16 inches); boy, did that rig pile up empty cases when he fired it!

I imagine the price for that weapon was in the 6 figure range...

Speaking of the gatling made me remember...22 long rifle gatling would be a neat little monster...instead of a belt though rig up a hopper...and no hand crank aa you can have that anyway iirc...battery op using a dewalt 12 or 18 v drill motor....adjustable fire rate. :)

Those little Tippman .22 1919A4's and 1917's were some cool little guns

Probably a FN Minimi in 5.56x45.

In a free state there would be no gun control laws, and this firearm would only cost about $3,000... so that would leave the rest of the $$ for ammo and extra barrels!!!

To be honest I'm more interested on a suppressed and short barrel weapon than full auto.

So if I had $20k to spend I'd rather get a semi auto version with the can ... a whole mess of mags and ammo ... and either a round tail light (69-73) BMW 2002 or a nice Willys CJ 2A, 2B or 3A (maybe with a VW TDI motor in it) to drive it around in.

well a glock 18 would be cool but if im spending this kinda money somethin big m2 dshk or pkm

The only full auto I have fired is an HK MP5. I was at FLETC in an instructors course. If I could have only one full auto it would be difficult for me to choose anything other than the MP5.

If I can change the money around and use the $20K for a days worth of ammo I would have to get a M134D-H.

Realistically I would want a grease gun and a MG-42.

Nushif:

Your wife saw those guys/gals use the Thompson on History Channel's Top Shot.

I would use whatever the Israeli forces use. Their nation has never been at peace, and it is doubtful that they chose machine guns which are not the most reliable/effective.
Otherwise, the most popular guns with our SWAT Teams (HK etc).

I would have an HK USP in 9mm with a threaded barrell as well.

And then I would live in a free state that allows greater than 10 round magazines.

And then I would live in a free state that allows SBR's.

And then I would live in a free state that allows suppressors.

And then I would live in a free state that allows retractable stocks...

And then I would live in a free ..........

Got a couple of faves...

The Thompson...although feeding a full-auto .45 is ahhhhh spendy

MP-40...but even 9MM ammo ain't cheap anymore

The Ma Deuce is a blast to shoot and since it modeled after the M1919, I'm sure it would be a blast as well.

However if I could have only one, I think I would want something a little more mobile. After thinking about it here is what I came up with.

For a modern age gun I would want the M249 Saw.

For something from yesterday I think the Sterling submachine gun would kick butt. (Trying to maintain the High Road.)

93R but I dont think the 20k would cover a 92 conversion much less the real McCoy

When I saw the titke to this thread I thought, "Oh yeah, fantasy time.". So automatically the XM214 jumps in my head. Then I read it has a price cap. Well the $275,000 price tag killed that idea and that they're only available under military contrract. So I'd have to say the Thompson or "Ma Duece" would be the choices. Anybody want to loan me 20K?
