I'd seriously consider a custom shop 38 super in glossy stainless just for grins. But only because I don't have one.

If I was going to 'build one' I'd say series 70 45ACP full size with long trigger, curved but smooth msh, novak sights and a WW1 style checkered wide hammer. Hey the custom shop can do anything, right?

But off the shelf? That series 70 is sweet.

I wish they would get ride of the duck bill too.

I have been surprised at how much that duck bill has grown on me. The hand rides a little lower, but the fit is very secure and positive.

I'd say one of the new Series 70 style .45's, they look great and are fine off-the-shelf or for use in a custom gun. Also, the WW1 1911's look fantastic.
