If you're reloading today...

I have to finish the 8mm today, didn't get back down to knock it out. Forgot my son was having over half the high school...

Anyone want a few teenagers? I have some to spare...

Finished the 500 S&W last evening. Now to use up that box of Missouri Bullets 230 grain "soft ball" today.:D Gotta go play------------

Ouch!

Those are some hard hitting rounds.

My fillings feel for you.

Oot at present. Did recon and bought 5k lpp.
Does that count?

Sure, I don't see why not. Shopping for components is still "time spent reloading" as far as I'm concerned. Logistics staff at companies still get paid for their time, product wouldn't move without them. :

FINALLY got my 8x57mm done.

Funny thing, I had to re-seat all the bullets.

There was a REASON I had my seating die cranked down .... I got to thinking about it, and pulled my Yugo M76 out to test one of the rounds in it. Chambered fine, but had to whack it open with a rubber mallet to get the round out. Was fully engaged in the lands!

The Sierra book calls for 3.115" on 200 gr. MK .323 in 8x57, but my rifle has a short throat. Had to go back through and seat them all deeper to 3.080" to avoid jamming bullets in to the lands.

I'm glad I caught that, as I had another 200 rounds sitting on the shelf loaded which were all too long to shoot in the M76. Got a nice little workout there, re-seating 490 frigging bullets deeper. :(

I loaded for my old (1959) Browning 30.06 Safari bolt action today. Loaded with two different powders and 3 different seating depths for each powder. Hope I find what it likes. Trent, 'splain to me about the soda straw sticking out of your Chargemaster. "zactly how much is sticking out?

.357 Magnums today.
125 gr JHP & worked up to 16.0 gr of 2400.
Gives a great manly boom ;)
w/o an overbearing recoil. :D

Oh, there's two, one split, one whole. The whole one is on the inside, needed another partial "layer" to make it fit snug.

There's about 1.5", it's sticking out maybe 3/8"?

Makes the trickle a lot smoother, stick powders don't get stacked up. Cuts back on overcharges.

Hondo 60,
Looks like we were working on a similar load. I worked up to 16.6 of 2400, but settled on 16.3 grain load. It is the most accurate in my GP-100's.
You're right, it does get people's attention but even my wife enjoys shooting them, especially at longer ranges on steel targets.
Also working up a new load with Remington 158 grain SJHP's.

Yesterday, today, probably tomorrow...

I'm in central Virginia, so it's not like there's three feet of snow on the ground, but it is DARN cold in the office (garage). But just so peaceful because, other than my dog, no one is crazy enough to spend more than 10 seconds out there. And of course I'm not burning through my cache, so when family members expect to see an ammo arsenal....you have to explain the many, many hours that are required to devote to the study, technique, and execution of the reloading process. The cold is all part of the discipline.

A little heavy handed on the bs, but at least I'm in control of what happens in my own little reloading tundra.

Just finished the 300 .38 spls I started loading yesterday. Told you I'm not a very fast loader!

Brass Prep

I cleaned up 100 rds. of 5.56 Lake City brass last night, 60rds. 30-30 brass earlier today, and 150 rds. of .357. After the tumbling, I'll load 30-30 and .357, as well as about 50rds. of .351 Win. Self Load.

Range report, Tried out unique for the first time in 45acp. I'm impressed. Enough so that I believe it just replaced win231.
Been a productive weekend for many here.

I have loaded 125JHP up to 16.8gr of 2400. I believe I have seen published max up to 17.5 (HOLY CROW!) I found that my favorite load is 16.2-16.3. Thats about what my powder measure will average. Lots of flash and boom, moderate recoil, and I believe as much power as a person probably needs out of a 357.

Thats my load right there! lol. My favorite load for a 158gr bullet, either jacketed or lead in 357 with 2400 is 14.5gr. For some reason that charge weight is clean burning, accurate, and a thumper with any bullet of that weight, jacketed or not.

Unique is one of my favorite powders. I recently switched to Bullseye in 45ACP, that is an equally favorite powder now. It meters VERY consistently (more so than Unique).

At least I'm done with 8mm for a while.

I *really* need to get the conversion for my Dillon to crank out belt fed food faster! (And a non-stick powder that meters clean without bridging.. IMR 4064 is HORRIBLE at bridging...Varget isn't too much better.)

Got 150 cases of 223 ready to go, sized, trimmed, primer pocket's done, and got almost 50 built then i had to go put up electric fence for the cows. So i guess i will finish them tomorrow

I'll be dwnstrs in a bit, finishing up the 80 .38 Spl.'s I started yesterday.... then found another 75 I sat down on the floor and forgot about. I have about 125 .223's I've got get busy on too, plus, when I moved some ammo around in the bureau drawers, I found the 250 '06's I'd cleaned up and now waiting on powder and bullets........ no time for a nap here Trent, glad boss's gone which her blacksnake!

prepping 223 brass today.

First time out with my new toy... :)

Finished loading the powder coated 30-30 (PB & GC, 13,14,15 gr 2400) , 308, 40SW. Now to get out and test em.

Finished the .223 trimming I was doing a couple days ago, and loaded a box of .45ACP, 200-gr RMR PRN over 5.0 grains of Bullseye. Great plinking round.

This part isn't as bad:

As this part was.

THAT crap is tedious.

Got 50 / 290 loaded so far. I thought I had a lot more to do, but found I'd already loaded 200 a few weeks back. :)

(EDIT: I also took a heck of a long nap after that first 50! Just about to get at it again)
That a RCBS Chargemaster? What mod is that on the dispensing tube?
