Pfleger on his facebook page has requested his 3500+ followers to call Senate President John Cullertons office at 217-782-2728
and tell him that if he supports concealed carry he will blah, blah blah.

Not sure if we have that many members here, but I would love for this top back fire in his face. I called and the receptionist is keeping a tally.

"Hi I would like for the Senate President to support a concealed carry bill."

Senate President John Cullertons office 217-782-2728

Originally posted by Sigma on illinoiscarry.com. If you've never called a politicians office before, relax. You will talk to a very nice secretary who will ask why you are calling. Simply say you are calling to ask if Mr. Cullerton "WILL SUPPORT" a concealed carry bill this year. They will ask for your name and city, thank you, and you're done!

No excuses!

Just did it myself! lets keep it going!!!! This would be a GREAT step for Illinois. Though I may not carry all the time if its passed. I will certainly get my permit. With that being said I wonder how much the permit will cost.........Now lets remember....Illinois is broke!

Keep encouraging all your family and friends to call! There are rumors that the opposition to IL RTC is waning.

The cost/generation of revenue may be a selling point to those legislators that are on the fence. It could also backfire and cause prohibitively expensive permits...which could be overcome as it would be un-Constitutional since only the "haves" could protect themselves while the "have nots" would have to choose between this or feeding their families for a month or something similar.

Hope is great, but we can make calls and really bug those legislators to convince them that this is what the people want.

I just sent My e-mail message to Sen. John Cullerton. We need every gun owner to send Him a message. a total of seven people were shot in Chicago yesterday. I have been keeping track of all the shootings in the Chicago news. It is alarming how many every week! Yet Chicago has strict laws. DA!!!! I hope the Politians wake up the some common sense. HB148 is needed in more ways than one.

IL has the best chance they've had in 20 years. That iron is white hot, strike! I know what it's like to live under the boot of the FOID card and the lack of carry in Illinois; spent 30 years in Bloomington/Normal. It is a helpless feeling to live in IL as a gun owner sometimes, but NOW is the time to win.

Those of you that emailed, don't forget to call also!

Not a current resident but moving back soon.

I'm in a sort of a pickle because I can't really call Illinois senators when I live in Missouri now. I'll call anyway and explain the situation.

I'm making sure to let friends and family know to call, too.

I just called. Spoke with a very nice (older) lady on the phone. Told her I wanted Mr. Cullerton to support CC. She repeated what I said slowly, as if she was writing it down somewhere, and asked for my name and address. She thanked me for calling and told me to have a nice day. Took 30 seconds of my time.

I hope it gets passed. Keep them on the phones to show support! I also sent an email

Please, keep calling your Senator and e-mailing them. We the People have to show Our support for this CCW bill. We have a good chance this time. People lets get it done for the good of Our State. I have personally talked with My Representative here in Aurora,Il. I'd be very happy if the vote in Springfield was 75% or more For this bill. A high % vote for the CCW bill would make a statement to the other States, We to believe in the 2nd Amendment.

We are winning this battle in IL

The only problem is that we don't know how much winning it will take to actually get the bill signed.
We are seeing movement toward our goal from all directions, even to the point that our illustrious Gov. is saying he will consider the bill before he vetoes it.
Several of us have worked on this bill and it is an excellent bill considering it is for IL. It was crafted to garner support from the police in the state. We now have official support of IL Chiefs of Police, the IL Sheriffs Association, and the Chicago Police Sergeants Union.
Right now, we are concentrating on the House and feel that if we can get it through that chamber, it will be easier to get it through the Senate.
We need: Courteous calls to legislators, folks talking about the issue, and encouraging others to make calls and write letters.
We are actually getting good press right now and a few letters to the editor wouldn't hurt either!
