I'll NEVER buy another SIG

I bet the OP feels a little silly about his post by now...
Maybe so, but I have literally "been there; done that; got the T-shirt to prove it". I know exactly how he feels/felt and I'd be willing to bet money most of us can relate directly to his situation.

Agreed. I've got the T shirt, coffee mug and pictures as well.

He was just frustrated and using the thread as a vent. I completely can see how he feels.

I will be buried with my Sigs. They are my favorite handgun I have found. I hate you have the problem you do.

If you like them THAT much, you ought to LEAVE them to friend, thereby giving them a good home and a long-lasting memory of your kindness in the heart and mind of that friend. Nothing worse than a gun that becoming a different sort of (GUN) SAFE QUEEN.

For the purpose of this thread I would like to state that:

I will definitely buy another Sig..... Sorry for the OPs problem.

Ahem,
I went through SIG's armorer course. The final exam was to grab all of the necessary parts out of a box that contained 35 pistols worth of parts and assemble it into a working pistol. Guess what they all worked. When you get a specialized part like a extended barrel it can change the whole dynamic of operation, things like feed angle, timing etc. A little fitting to assure proper, safe functioning shouldnt bother you. H&K's are fine pistols no doubt and the supressor function was probably planned into the design but they are way more expensive than they should be for the materials used. Plus you can shoot cast bullets in the SIG try that long term in your H&K and see what the end result is.

So what exactly does that prove? Pointless post. Plated or jacketed bullets are real hard to find.........whatever. Quit making excuses, it should fit, period, end of story. Yeah and like SIG's are significantly cheaper than HK's? Are you a professional SIG apologist?

Why should it fit when it clearly states that it will need to be fitted?

Is the kinda of high quality of the sig mosquito: that has a 1/8" steel lip above the feed ramp. so that the nose of the bullet strikes this LEDGE before seating in the chamber and when you call Sig and ask them if you can send you Mosquito in so that they can polish out that GDamn 'built in jamming ledge" and they say WE WON'T DO IT!

Just wondering....

There really isn't a need to add your $0.02 in a thread to promote a brand that isn't even being discussed

I have seen HKs need fitting as well. No one brand is perfect, and just because you haven't seen one thing doesn't mean that it hasn't happened. HK makes fine pistols, as does Sig. Now how about we leave it at that and put the HK back in the safe while we discuss this.... Though I'm not entirely sure that there is anything left to be discussed.

H&K and Glock fan boys can not stand when someone likes another weapon other than their favorite. I've carried a SIG 229 for 3 years on duty and it has never failed, I carried a Beretta 92 for 7 years prior to that another fine weapon. There are a lot of great pistols out there try a couple you might be impressed. Of course you can remain convinced that a company that cares nothing about you the end user is perfect, as H&K is well known to treat consumers almost with disdain or you can work with a company that jumps when you call with questions or problems. And if I am a fan boy it's for CZ pistols. You guys can keep your recycled pop bottles and fight about who is best I cant see spending a grand for a plastic gun when I can still get a hell of a finely made pistol for about half that.

Walt I hope they are so worn out they would be classified as barn door accuracy. My P220 will go to my daughter, my P229 will go to her when I die, because it is firmly attached to my hip until then.

The Sig P229R and Galco Summer Carry holster saved a life over Labor Day. My father was having issues with a drunk excommunicated nephew of his. (Long story) I was there to help him get some of his stuff of of the family property. My cousin (being drunk and narcotic end out the night before) started on my 73 year old father who is honestly crippled. My brother and I ran to his side and he tried to draw my P229. Evidently it printed enough for him to see and he ended up with a dislocated elbow and shoulder pain because my brother and I both mad sure it wasn't coming out of the holster unless in my hands.

A very old black guy (Korean War Vet) who passed away a long time ago used to stop by my work and tell stories. My favorite one was "Family be crazy ,man" how I miss his stories. I had a model 67 Winchester .22 for snakes, we used to bet on how many bottle caps he could knock down with missing.... His record was 9 with quite a bit of dandelion wine in between( this was at 25 feet too. I sure do miss him, he was a character.

Back to the Sigs, I am doing my darnest to wear them out, they just seem to keep going and going. Even that model 67 still shoots and it has over 15000 rounds through it and hardly a cleaning every few thousand. Good guns are built to last....
