Sorry if I'm repeating the message, but the cut and paste in the other thread about what's going on in Philly missed a very important point.

The law concerning "assault weapons" indicates that ten rounds is the limit on magazine capacity.

From The Daily News:

The laws limit purchases of handguns to one a month unless the Police Department provides written authorization, make it a crime to not report a lost or stolen gun within 48 hours, allow police to confiscate guns from people considered a danger to themselves or others and ban semiautomatic weapons with clips that hold more than 10 rounds.

From the city's web site:

Prohibits Assault or Contraband Weapons in Philadelphia – This law prohibits the sale or possession of contraband or assault weapons and ammunitions from the City of Philadelphia.

Possession?

Wow, just imagine straying over the line into the city with a Glock 17.

As they say, NIMBY. The state cannot allow Philadelphia to create its own laws with regard to firearms.
