The false garbage that is spewed is just so unbelievable
that it makes the head spin. Sigh....
I'll just hit the high points (I know, preachin to the choir, but maybe antis or fence sitters read here):
Let's start off with this idgit Krajewski. His statements are so outlandish that I think they must be made up, or he was paid by the anti-freedom lobby to spout this canned nonsense, which is word for word verbatim from the gun banner's mantras:
"There is absolutely no reason that anyone should be carrying around military-style assault weapons," he said. "I mean, we saw what a weapon like that did to a human body. I mean, I own guns and my sons and I hunt as well, but I don't have assault rifles or anything. There's no need for it."
1. Yes, there is plenty of reason - that's what the second amendment is all about - MILITARY STYLE weapons - weapons useful to effectuate the purpose of the 2A, which is to overthrow the government if a tyrant comes to power - a tyrant like GWB has shown signs of wanting to be.
2. If you hunt, then you are lying or at least disingenuous, because you know full well that the vast majority of hunting gun calibers that you and your friends use to hunt with are far more devastating to a human than the 7.62x39mm round.
3. No need for it, eh? See #1
Ironically, Krajewski is a former NRA member, and he still owns three semiautomatics. None of that matters to him right now.
"These guns are made for destruction," he said yesterday inside his living room. "They need to ban assault weapons. They're military weapons." He said he knows some friends still in the NRA would disagree, but "I don't care.
1. Guns made for destruction? Sure, and your hunting guns are not? Of course they are - they're GUNS! The 2A doesn't work with water pistols. That's not gonna overthrow a tyrannical government.
2. He owns three semi-auto rifles, but he thinks that the SKS should be banned, but the 3 he owns does not? What is the difference in them? They all operate the same way. I'd sure like to know whether he has a Rem 7400 which takes mags with the same capacity as an SKS (10).
3. Military weapons? Sort of, but not really. The SKS is an old, outdated design. The MOST modern military weapons in existence must be made available to the American citizen, for the purpose of the 2A to work; that is, to act as a check against the power of the standing army; i.e. as a militia force. That is why US v. Miller stated quite clearly that a small arm is protected to the individual under the 2A if it is "useful to a miliatary or paramilitary group". So if the SKS is a military weapon, then all the more reason why it cannot be banned. Actually, the truth is that his hunting buddies' single shots can constitutionally be banned, but full -autos cannot - that's what the 2A is about - military style weapons.
This is a Philadelphia problem.
No, this is a brain problem, to erroneously think that gun bans are gonna decrease violent crime ANYWHERE - and Philly is no exception. This is a failure to get tough on violent offenders problem. It is a failed and corrupt big city leadership problem. Has nothing to do with implements of steel and wood.
"They need to get in the real world where the rest of us live," he said. "They owe an apology to the family for their staunch opposition over many, many years blocking legislative support for these kinds of matters."
Dude! No legislation will stop this butthole from getting any gun and killing - why can't antis get that through their thick skulls!?
Just smoke and mirrors to divert attention away from the real issue of many decades of failed policies on crime - soft sentences, revolving jailhouse doors, corrupt police, etc.
Either way, the facts revealed yesterday about how such a powerful rifle - sold at a gun show in North Carolina some 10 years ago - ended up in the hands of three convicted felons tell a sad story of America's failed gun policies.
Biased journalism. That statement presumes a failed "gun policy", which is taking a side on the heart of the matter that is the subject of debate. The reality is that it's a failed "crime policy" which has nothing to do with guns. Also, if there is this so-called "gun show loophole", then how praytell, was it allegedly traced to a NC gun show 10 years prior?
"There's a ton of them out there. They can lay some heavy firepower. We see them periodically being used by street gangs and drug organizations. It's a pretty menacing gun."
So the BATF spokesman, presumbably their best expert on guns, is assessing the alleged dangerousness of a gun, by its "menacing" looks? Set aside for a moment that the SKS does not actually have menacing looks, compared to most military-derived designs. What makes it so menacing then?
Bah..
