May 1, 2007 - Springfield Report

Today Senator Dan Kotowski continued his practice of dancing in the blood of the Virginia Tech victims, when he put a hostile amendment on Senator A. J. Whihelmi's bill SB1007. With only an hour's notice, Kotowski placed an amendment on SB1007 in the infamous Public Health Committee. The amendment is a magazine ban reminiscent of the failed Clinton Gun Ban, this ban would limit legal magazines to 10 rounds. The original intent of SB1007 was to address the section of the criminal code which deals with the sexual exploitation of children. Is there anything this guy won't do?

The committee vote on the amendment was 7 yeas, 0 nays, and 3 present.

This bill could come up for a vote as early as tomorrow, May 2. Please call your State Senator and urge him or her to oppose SB1007.

Last week on Thursday, Representative Annazette Collins broke rank with those urban legislators who typically vote for anti-gun legislation, and voted against HB758, a bill that would pretty much outlaw private transfers. Now this week, she is getting beat up very hard on her vote against HB758.

We are asking our people to make supporting "thank you calls" to Representative Collins. Her 10th District Phone is 773-533-0010. Her Springfield phone is 217-782-8077.

Please check out our website and consider going to our fund raising dinner on May 10.

He attaches this bill to a piece of legislation designed to protect children from perverts :barf: . Is there any level a Illinois politician won't sink to? Jesus I hate this damn commie state, and wish Chicago would just drop into Lake Michigan.

I'm writing a letter to Northwestern and U Chicago explaining why I have lost all desire to attend their schools. I won't live in that state period.

I was originally thinking of graduate school at one of those two.... but for the love of G-d no!

We should thank the lady. I wonder if she is becoming more progun?

And I really am sick of this state. I am telling you all to get the mags you want now because soon they will be gone.

Come on guys, call your Senators and tell them exactly why you're asking them to vote against it.

My senators number has given me a busy signal all morning. I guess that means people in my area are aware of whats going on :) . I have one of those rare pro-gun Democrats, and one of the few (D)s I have ever voted for. He has never voted in favor of an anti-gun piece of legislation to date, and I hope he won't let me down on this one.

My guy took my call immediately. Said they've managed to kill SB 16. He's on our side. One of the few, but trying. There's a "gross receipts tax" issue that's indirectly helping the Rupublican side of the aisle. VERY controversial and stirring up grass roots interest. Any way they can get control back should help the 2nd amendment.
