Occaisionally, the gun club I belong to has a Rotten Egg Shoot. We hang eggs that are superglued to strings and try to shoot them with .22's as they swing in the wind. We have them hung at 25 and 50 yards.
Now I had gotten one of those Wally World Ruger 10/22 Rifles, the one with the long barrel as opposed to the carbine length, but I had not shot it yet.
Wednesday evening we had our meeting and a Rotten Egg Shoot. They had eggs now at 100 yards as well as 50 and 25 yards.
I was hitting, consistently, once I figured out where to hold, the eggs at 100 yards.
With iron sights. No scope.
I was one happy camper! I was also outshooting custom 10/22's with scopes. Now that, really made me happy!
