It means they are likely mostly SAI commercial repro parts. Not a bad thing but not a great thing for the value either as far as getting over $1100 for it.
 
You should really look at selling something else. Also, if you've acknowledged that it's his gun, how do you plan on selling it?
 
Did you read post #25? The rifle belongs to his mother. My ex-wife took my effing dog in the divorce. They take the things that they know mean the most to you. No offense to the OP's mother meant I'm just saying.

As much as I'd like an M1A, works been slow and I'm just not in the market for the time being. But I have one friend that might be interested, or might not.

ETA- Are you sure your dad wouldn't want to buy it back? Sure would suck to have to buy a gun that was "stolen" (for lack of a better term) from you. But if he liked it, he may be appreciative to get it back.

If you're not estranged from your dad, I think he should definitely get first shot at buying it back. As JWF said, it sucks, but he might appreciate the option.
