My name's Tim and it's been 15min since I loaded my last round.

I found myself digging through 2 full bucketts of scrap brass looking for good brass i may have missed cause I'm out of brass and still have powder, primers and bullets. Oh yeah I have more loaded ammo then most small countrys
10.000+ Is that enough?
And when I see a shooting on the news my first thought"s not that poor bastard it's I wonder if the cops got all the brass.
Now I did try to curb my addiction I bought a compound bow and what did I do? you got it glued primers to the tips but totaly not reloadable anybody want to buy a compound bow and a bunch of broke arrows?
Maybe it's just cabin fever with the bad weather we have had this winter.
And the money i saved i spent thousends to save hundreds.
Oh yeah this was all done on a single stage press.

I need to get to a meeting before I start whoreing myself out for brass.

Dose this hit home? Tell us how nutz you have gotten around reloading.

Nutz enough to go buy a gun to fit the brass I found in factory boxes left behind at the range. Someone left several boxes of once fired .357 brass which I grabbed but didn't have a .357. Ended up buying one the next day.

Nutz enough to attend "meetings"?

Hope they hold them at a range.

Sorry, won't find much help here. We all have the same problem.

Can you spare a few .45 cases bud. I'm hurtin'. :D

In three months I went from having no equipment to having 2 presses, loading 5 calibers, and having 4 types of powder (only need 2), and having 6k brass and 4k bullets on hand. Only have 1k primers.

must be contagious

Ha Ha Ha
(or as some say, LOL)
I found some .45 LC brass at the range, marveled over it and took it home. Ended up with not one, but three .45LC S&W revolvers. I have since sold two but regret that regularly. The one I still have is a keeper, and I carry it during the winter.

I thought i was all alone. I can't seem to shoot enough to keep up with my loading addiction.

When the highlight of your day is finding 73 pieces of 30-06 brass at the cinder pit...

And you are even happier because 38 pieces are GI and your going to have to swage the primer pockets...

I just finished ordering 6000 sp primers. 3000 pieces of brass ( backorder ) and 1000 bullets. I have brass tumbling as I type to reload after the Bulls/Heat game. Every piece of brass I own ( about 4000) is loaded except the ones in the tumbler. I have the same disorder.

Update on my recovery

Well did not go so well went to the range and shot some .308 HK-91, M-1-a
and a converted Saiga .308 I was a lil aggresive scrounging brass + my own
Range guy caught me with my hand in the bucket then the cops showed up some dumb ass threatened the range master (range master is a dick) but you just dont do that good news he went to the gray bar and all his .308 brass is in my tumbler as i write this. So I should have enough brass to keep me busy for a few days hope it needs trimming I'm sick I need help what can I say.

You have it bad.:D Just wait until you find yourself looking at the satellite pictures on Google to find all the gravel pits along the route of your next trip so you can stop and look for fired brass in each one.:neener:

Frog0207 that one that i need to check out thats a good one.casting is a lot of fun

Tim,
No problems - this past winter I went through the same thing.
All the brass I had was reloaded & I was bored.

Luckily Cabela's website is open 24/7.
Yes, I actually paid for brass (45 Colt).

And when I figure out the cost of brass, primers, powder & bullets,
I STILL saved vs buying loaded ammo (and unloading it, so I have useable brass)

I don't understand why 45 Colt ammo is so expensive!
Thank God, for giving me the brains & tools to reload my own

This may sound sinful, but sometimes I think the reloading is more fun then the shooting. When I can't sleep, I'll think about something interesting to reload and before I know it I've been lulled to sleep...!

Is it bad that we loaded up the AR, Glocks, and 38SP to go to the range to shoot this morning after dropping the kids off. Went to the range and immediately started picking up brass, got about 50 misc pieces and decided to go to another range about 15 miles away and check for brass and shoot. Made it there and found about another 50 pieces and decided we needed to get them home and in the tumbler immediately. Two ranges, four guns, and never fired a shot!!

I went to the range Sat & Sun.

Sat, I went with a friend who was breaking in his dad's PT99 AFS and I was breaking in my PT92 AFS. He'd never fired a pistol nor a rifle, but he has fired shotguns. Because of a family fiscal emergency, I offered to pay for his range fee and ammo (200 9mm Luger rounds). To offset the cost, he became my brass whore. His only instruction was to pick up any piece of brass (except 22) and put it into my brass bag. He was a little over zealous. At this particular range, the RO's know that I reload and they look the other way when I pick up more than just my brass. At this pistol range, we did very well. Guy next to me was shooting 45ACP and was not collecting his brass. Politely asked if I could have it and he started handing me several handfulls of brass. His son was shooting 357 Magnum and handed me all 200 pieces of brass. We did pretty well and then it was off to the rifle lanes.

I was caught dumpster diving a couple of weeks back, so casually "checked" the dumpster and no joy there. At our lane however was an absolute ton of brass. I snagged 260 Rem, 308 Win, 270 WSM, 6.8 SPC and several hundred 5.56/.223 from a couple of guys in the next lane over who were not keeping their brass. I actually filled my brass bag nearly 4 times with brass. My range bag was significantly heavier than when we went in and I was carrying nearly 1000 rounds of ammo (45ACP & 9mm). Sunday at the rifle range was no different. Only two reloaders at the far lanes, but everyone next to me did not reload and gladly handed over their brass. Another 150 or so pieces of 5.56/.223. Overall a good brass weekend.

Clean them up and do some more reloading. I normally keep 3 to 4k of 9mm Luger & 45ACP. I've got brass for calibers that I don't shoot yet, but am definitely prepped for more than a few calibers. I have been known to go to the range so I can reload more :D
