Are there any experts out here on the Baby Eagle? I am trying to find out if they all have polygonal rifling...I don't think they do. I thought the older ones were polygonal and the newer ones standard lans/grooves. If this is the case, does anyone know about when they changed?...approx. what serial number?

Thanks!

I've got a Jericho 941 in 9mm (hot off the presses) and yes the barrel has polygonal rifling :D

I have found documentation that says they were polygonal until 2005, then they switched to lans/grooves until 2007, then they switched back to polygonal. Now I'm back to needing to know what serial number range used the lans/grooves.

i went through the acedemy, with one. that was in '95 and had already had the pistol for a year or so. it definately had polygonal rifling, but that didn't stop me from running 3K rds of lead through it, which caused NOT ONE problem :)

yes. if you love the gun but want normal rifling you need to look at another cz type gun. I believe the cz guns, the ar-24, the Sarsilmaz Hancer, and some of the EAA guns have standard rifling. but don't hold me to that.

whats so bad about the poly rifleing?

not as versatile, when it comes to diet. running LEAD thru poly rifling is advised against due to it being more prone to "leading" (lead build up). this increases chamber pressure.

it really only makes a significant difference to someone who reloads. someone who doesn't reload is ALOT less likely to wish their pistol could eat cast bullets, they're just gonna go buy some WWB at WM and be done with it lol
