Is this a good place to buy from? I'm looking at a Ruger P345 that they have listed at $418 Other places like GalleryofGuns have them listed at $500-$540. Impact Guns seems too good to be true. I know that of course you have to have all guns bought online shipped to an FFL dealer, and they usually charge a fee, so altogether I would be playing close to $500. But still, Impact is selling at $100+ than other places.

Is there a catch? Are they too good to be true?

I've bought most of my firearms from them, I have no complaints at all.

Stuff I got:

Remington 870 combo
Marlin 60
Browning BL-22
Ruger 10/22
Henry .22 youth model
Buckmark camper

The can be a good place if they have the gun in stock at the time you want it. So far, I have tried to purchase three guns from them, but the guns were never in stock. What I found troubling was that I had wanted an Alexander Arms Beawolf (sp?) that they had listed, but was not in stock. When I asked if I could order one or place a deposit for the next one that came in stock, I was refused. That sort of surprised me as I didn't think anyone turned down money up front.

With that said, I have a buddy who has purchased 2 or 3 guns from them and has found the service to be sufficient to warrant repeat business, but the good service has come with guns in stock at the time he wanted them.

So how do they get away with charging a good $100 less than other dealers? I understand that most online dealers are going to be cheaper than an actual gun store. But Impact seems to be cheaper than other online dealers, and by a lot.

I cannot comment on their service but I know they sometimes ship handguns via DHL. Which makes you really feel like idiot picking them up from the depot in a box with shipping labels that just scream "there is a firearm inside". DHL policy says they do not ship handguns and I am not sure what DHL will if they find a package with one in it.

Otherwise their prices are pretty good assuming the item is in stock.

I don't think they're cheap. Budsgunshop.com is usually much better priced than them. In fact, I just checked. They sell that ruger p345 for $354. If you thought the $420 from impactguns was incredible, I guess Bud's $354 blows your mind? Should cost under $400 to get the gun in hand.

I bought a gun or two from Impact...

And I'll be buying from them again in the future. The only reason I haven't already is because I keep finding better deals locally. My gun was in stock at the time though, I've never had the urge to pay someone a bunch of money and then wait a month or three for my stuff. Then again, there's nothing I need/want that I can't find within 15 minutes of my place. One advantage of city life, I suppose.

I also had mine shipped DHL. I wasn't aware DHL had any policy against shipping guns. I didn't have to pick anything up from any depot, and they got from Utah to Columbus in a day once my firearm actually shipped. Just have them ship it to your local gun store and go pick it up when they call you - that's what I did, anyway.

I have to admit, it kinda sucks waiting a week for someone to just ship the damn thing... I can't imagine living in a state with a waiting period on top of that... but once it's sent it's there before you know it. If DHL can get it from Utah to Ohio in 24 hours at ground prices, that should speak for itself. That's as fast as it gets for regular shipping.

They must drive reeeaaallly fast :D

The people there at Impact are really friendly too, should you ever need to call the place... and they do something gun stores around here never do. They actually answer the phone! :what:

Can't say anything bad about impact. I'd be more inclined to buy something from them that ships in 48 hours rather than 5-7 days if possible, but that's just me... and I'm not known for my patience. :p

Regarding budsgunshop.com - look closely... They charge a $25 "handling fee," and a $25 shipping fee... Add whatever your FFL is going to charge you to pick it up, and those prices aren't so incredible anymore... Impact charges you a set price to ship it, depending on how fast you want it, and who you want to ship it.

IIRC I paid the list price for the gun, plus $9 to ship it. You do the math on that one.

Keep in mind that shipping, insurance and FFL fee can easily another $75-80 to the cost of guns from Bud's or Impact. It is still a pretty good deal for me, but not the insanely great deal it appears at first. Regardless, I got great service from both these places and would definitely buy there again.

Well I have to pay the FFL with either Impact or Buds, so that cancels out, and that's 35$ at Cabelas. And it seems both are charging around 30ish for shipping and handling. So with S+H at Impact it came out to about $470. At Buds it seems to be less.

Thanks for all the info guys!, I had no idea about Buds!. That might save me a good $40-$50 :)

$35 is a lot for a transfer. I paid $15. Have you tried calling around your local pawn and gun shops? Or used gunbrokers FFL transfer list? It includes prices.

ImpactGuns has an indoor shooting range in Boise and I have purchased several guns from them. Their staff is friendly, well informed and reload friendly (they give me as much free once fired brass as I want).

They also employee quite a few women at least in Boise, that open carry around the store :).

I had them order a Mossberg 590 for me and it took less time than they said it would and received a free 30 day range pass.

Their Sig prices have gone up about $100 in the past 6 months but at one point they were a good $300 below retail, I got my Mossberg for about $150 off retail.

I pick up my orders at their store so I don't know about the shipping, etc but always been a good experience.

I've never bought a firearm from them; but have purchased several items. Last time I made a purchase, they shipped to FPO/AP when we were in Iraq for free.

I've even had to return an item that they just shipped me a new one with out recieveing the broken part.
