I was having a problem on two of my milsurps: both were shooting way too high at 50-100 yards!
The rifles in question are a Mauser 98k and a Mosin Nagant M38....
My fix was rather simple. I took two-part epoxy and created a small droplet on the front sight posts. I flipped the rifles upside down, so the drop would dry tring to stretch itself longer, rather than puddle on the top of the post. Next, I filed the side of the droplet to match the post, and squared it all up. After painting the epoxy black, I took it to the range along with the file so I could make adjustments.
Both rifles were luckily right on at 100! I think this was alot easier than buying a tall sight and replacing the factory one. You can't tell what I've done unless you really get right up on the sight and know what to look for!
